Almost DNF but glad I hung in there. It's a cute lil book that didn't need to be almost 500 pages long. Cute little world and beautiful illustrations. Main character is are likeable and overall just a cozy charming book.

Not typically my style but this book is objectively absolutely whimsical and brilliantly written. I frequently found myself smiling and invested in the story.

Definitely better than A Court Of Thorns and Roses and overall an engaging page turner. Absolutely amazing character development and strong likeable characters. Excited for the next one.

4.5 but the ending was just too abrupt to give it a full 5. Overall, it was a surprisingly good book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Unique plot with post-apocalyptic vibes and dragons! Very engaging and I found myself wanting to keep reading. It was a little cheesey at times but even this was surprisingly enjoyable. Definitely worth the read!

Well written book with good character development and compelling storyline. A little overhyped but still totally worth the read. I feel like most the bad reviews are just people who hate anything mainstream. It's a beautiful world well described by the author even if it's basically beauty and the beast.

This is a Novella. I don't understand the hate for this book being exactly as advertised and taking a few hours to read. It is advertised as #3.5 and is exactly as described so the one star reviews seem a little dramatic. It's a short, cozy read focusing on the characters' everyday lives and some reprieve from their trauma and war. It's essentially a Christmas special which I knew going in so enjoyed it for what it was. It didn't hurt we just got snow in Colorado so the vibes while reading it next to the fire with snow outside were pretty hard to beat. I wish there was more Azriel and Lucien but overall this is a cute novella and a much needed break for me from these heavy books.

4.5 (definitely 5 star parts and 4 star parts). Still great character development and relationship building but the overall plot is just ok. My favorite part of this book was the different highlords and their descriptions and personalities. It was more war heavy than the rest of the series which I enjoyed especially how badass Cassian and Azriel are portrayed. I struggled with the pacing a bit at times going a week without finding the motivation to read it during boring parts and then at times so much happening at once that I couldn't put it down. It had a very satisfying ending that wrapped up nicely which is always a plus for me. I continue to like and enjoy these books but not to the degree their cult following seems to.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Compelling and addicting from start to finish! First book I've read in awhile I couldn't put down. Enjoyable characters and interesting plot line. Overall just a throughly enjoyable read.
My only complaint is the occasional immaturity of the writing and dialog. Even though it's YA fiction I think the author could have found better words than "hot" for a 21 year old woman fighting for her life daily. Really pulled me out of the moment a few times. Overall still definitely worth a read especially if you like dragons!

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

Probably closer to 4.5. I definitely enjoyed the first one a bit more. In Iron Flame Violet got a little bit less likable to me. The plot and world base of this book is phenomenal. The dragons and entire concept of the book is great. It however just lacks the character development to truly be 5 stars. Just feels a little immature in the characters thought process and especially the romance between the main characters. Still a good book that I had a hard time putting down and will absolutely be reading the next one.
