I've had the most wonderful month listening to these stories. There's something so soothing about Arthur Conan Doyle's writing, the effect surely helped by Stephen Fry's masterful narration.

The image of these two characters tramping about Victorian London just warms my heart. There's something really magical about listening to their adventures of bygone years while you're commuting on a grim London morning, just passing their baker street address on the bus.

Fucking hell that was atrocious. Shocking writing, plot was just contrived and somehow through all the grizzly, gruesome murders managed to be dull. The dialogue between the female characters made me want to pull my eyelashes out. And the characters themselves... talk about one dimensional. I don’t often read books I dislike so much they make me a n g r y but here we are. And oh god that ending, I don’t even want to think about that.

I’m marathoning the saw movies at the moment and in comparison they seems like gods gift to earth next to this crock of shit.

Such a gripper. I was absolutely dead off my feet off night shifts and I would still come home - listen to this and not be able to doze off for hours. 3.99
