I enjoyed my time with this one, but I think I liked it a little less than book 1. The main reason is it felt like it was lacking some in the gore department. For a book about someone who “deletes” others we didn’t get to see much of it.

I also felt like some of the storyline was lacking depth. I think the best part was the FMCs Aunt Ethel. She was always stirring things up.

The main focus was definitely their relationship. I thought they had decent chemistry with each other. I liked the forced proximity, of them living together and slowly finding out more about each other. At some point their “dislike” for each other felt a little drawn out.

Overall I enjoy this series. I listened to the audio and thought the narrators did a fantastic job. l think the audio enhances the story.

The concept for this one sounded amazing. When I picked it up I didn’t realize it was the second in a series. I think it can be read as a standalone but some of world took me a little bit of reading to fully understand what was going on. Lots of biblical and mythological references. There was a lot in the plot going on but somehow I found myself a little bored.
I think my biggest issue is that I just wasn’t feeling the romance. I can’t quite pinpoint exactly what about it wasn’t vibing but I think it was a mixture of a lot of things. I really couldn’t connect with the characters. Their lives had so much going on that the romance just felt a little.
I just felt like I couldn’t connect with the world or characters. I think the bones of the story were there but it just wasn’t the one for me
