The ending was worth more than the stars I gave but the majority of the book dragged on unnecessarily. It was overly dark but lost much of the spark that made me love the first book. I also missed Lustina.

I could have loved this book completely. Sadly I loved the 3/4 and then felt nothing for the last 1/4. It was almost like the author burnt out towards the end.

I loved Leon. What a cutie. Raelynn was a ‘meh’. She was just so ridiculously helpless. I also didn’t feel deeply connected to any of the characters (not like the characters in Harley Laroux’s other books). I was missing that.

Not quite the emotional rollercoaster like Part I but dang, the grovelling was on point.

This story completely gripped me from the start. I liked the beta-focus of this book; Grace was a loveable character. As were Max, Daniel (swoon), and Joshua.

The only reason why I didn’t give this five stars is because I felt the ending was really rushed.

I’m not sure if that was an editing or writing decision, but this book should have been way longer (could have been two parts as well) to make the character development of all pack members more even but to also unpack the trauma that comes with having Kayden as a stepbrother.

That said, I really liked this book (minus the oversimplified ending).

Smut wise, this was perfect. Very hot.

Plot wise, the first half was 4.50/5.00 while the second half was 2.00/5.00.

There were ingredients to make this into a riveting and emotionally profound story. Unfortunately, the potential remained untapped. The characters became insufferable. Especially Poppy (paired with Tyler’s incessant moping over her).

Let’s just say, if this were real life, I’d be more inclined to call this a trauma bond rather than love.

I really enjoyed this. First time reading anything by Sara Cate and I’ll definitely be checking out her other books.

This story was great although some parts did drag on longer than necessary. I resonated with both characters and found them very likeable. I also swooned like mad because of how sweet Adam was with Sage (the aftercare was adorable). The sex scenes were very hot, too.

Looking forward to reading more about Goode brothers.

Wow. I went into this not know what the heck to expect. The premise was one that intrigued me (although very dark) but I quickly fell in love with both of these characters.

The writing was poetic at times and I found everything flowed really well. The storyline gripped me from the start. It started off so dark and sultry and quickly became romantic and heartwarming. I loved these characters and I loved the story. A very fast read.
