Wow. I went into this not know what the heck to expect. The premise was one that intrigued me (although very dark) but I quickly fell in love with both of these characters.

The writing was poetic at times and I found everything flowed really well. The storyline gripped me from the start. It started off so dark and sultry and quickly became romantic and heartwarming. I loved these characters and I loved the story. A very fast read.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
Honestly, I felt zero connections to any of the characters when I was already nearly 200 pages in.

The main character, Adeline, is sometimes funny but mostly annoying as shit.

I just don’t understand how I’m supposed to like/care about any of these characters.

Also, it’s very non-romance-y so far.

I’m so sad that none of these characters are real.

I didn’t think I would like this book much (I hadn’t read much reverse harem or polyamorous-type romances before).  Boy, did I fall for these sets of characters hard. The love they had for each other as well as Jess was really sweet. The use of safe words throughout the kinky scenes was also really sexy.

I read this book a long time ago when I was probably just entering University. I really liked it then (and still like it now). It’s refreshing to read and reminds me of a time when we didn’t have mobile phones constantly in the palms of our hands.

The format of the story is told through emails. The book had me laughing quite hard at times and the characters are very likeable. I definitely will re-read this again in the years to come and will probably still enjoy it like I did the very first time I read it all those years ago.

The only bit I wish could have been different is the ending, only because it felt kind of rushed. However, it was a nice tie-in and suits the chick lit genre quite well.

This started off very strong and I really was hoping it would be as good as “The Boy Next Door”, but sadly, the storyline sort of fizzled out at the halfway point.

The dilemma of the story got resolved very quickly and almost became an afterthought about 2/3 into the book. The characters stopped being very likeable and began resembling caricatures of themselves. I didn’t really feel pulled in and even found myself wanting to skip passages because I simply didn’t care; I just wanted to know how the story would end.

Had high hopes but was sadly disappointed.

I really enjoyed this audiobook more than I ever thought I would. I enjoyed it so much, I immediately listened to it all again because I wasn’t quite ready to let the story and the characters go. It’s silly, I know. However, that’s how much I loved it.

The characters were well thought out, the narration was brilliant, and the story kept me guessing on what would happen next. My emotions were all over the place; I laughed at times and teared up at others. I actually found myself wishing my commute to and from work was longer just so I didn’t have to stop the story mid-way.

So, this has definitely gone into my “favourites” collection.
