unfortunately another audiobook that’s ruined by the narration. i understand costs that come with professional narration, but can authors at least take some sort of course on narration before reading their own books?? i loved the content but the narration was so grating i couldn’t finish it before my library loan ran out. might pick it up again as a physical book someday though

Took awhile to get started (only really got invested in it in the last 2/3rds of the book) but the payoff is definitely worth it. meticulously crafted. so excited to see more of this world

Great ideas and engaging writing but clumsy execution. Definitely felt like a first novel. Interesting and insightful commentary on power, generational trauma, imperialism, and maybe even the term “cultural competency”
