A good read that had its moments,  just wasn’t as invested in the characters as i wanted to be and the ending was semi-lacklustre.

With lovable characters and a perfect example of a “found family”, TDM remains one of my favourite YA dystopian novels from middle school and a series i have much nostalgia for.

Though not for everyone, I found this book comforting and reflective. Slow paced in the beginning, I became invested in the characters and went through all the emotions at that ending!

Had its cute moments, but lost its way mid through the book. The ending was cute and made up for it though.

Near the beginning of the novel I really liked the characters and their relationship, but as the plot progressed the book became more frustrating and the mc more unlikeable. Had potential, but did not meet my expectations from today, tonight, tomorrow.

Will i remember the plot of this book in a couple months? Probably not.

But as a reader I loved the writing style of this thriller, how tense the scenes were and how much depth was given to every character in the book. The type of book that on a second read, might pick up on details previously missed.

Though the ending was almost anti-climactic, it wraps up well and in retrospect was obvious when the hints were laid out. My first Agatha Christiebook as was pleasantly surprised by how I enjoyed it.

A frustrating slow burn romance that is painfully realistic with likeable characters to match.

What i loved about this book can really be encompassed by the author herself.

“This book is a love letter to love, but it was a love letter to Seattle first.” -Rachel Lynn Solomon’s

The way the author really brought together all these amazing aspects of the city and brought them to life, was what made it obvious to me how much care and heart went into writing this book. The chemistry between Neil and Rowan was really cute. I found this book really to be a perfect read as someone who also shares Rowan’s thoughts on graduation and though it may be too much for some, I liked how the leads discuss issues that affect them or may be taboo to others. More than just the academic rivals to lovers trope, this book has heart, adventure and new beginnings.
