I need to learn how to give up a book (or series) when I honestly can’t stand it. But here I am, too far into the series to give up now.
The author needs to learn how to get to the point. We don’t need 50 pages about Grace’s love for pop tarts or 100 pages about Hudson’s Versace underwear. You could cut out 300 pages of this book and still have way too many pointless details - we’re not dealing with literary art here. Also, the constant ~quirky cool girl~ pop references that continue from the other books need. to. stop. They are cringey and age the book in a way that guarantee Grace’s interests as irrelevant in five years. The continuity errors are just the icing on the top.

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

Fun twist, but a lot of unanswered questions left by the end of the book.
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

A Christmas special in which Nesta is still as ungrateful as ever, Elain is praised for doing the bare minimum, and Feyre is just her usual cringe ~suffering artist~ self.
A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne

Reia ~isn’t like the other sacrifices~ her skin is snowy white and she likes looking into Orpheus’ ~orbs~
As an idea, the plot has a lot of potential. In actuality, the writing is terrible. Reia sounds as though she stepped out of a 2012 fanfic in the worst way possible.
This book made me wish I was strong enough to DNF. Luckily for Reia and the author, I somehow made it through to the end.
