Worry is a sin, even I know that, yet I am more than just a lily of the field. I’m a lily that’s been plucked from the ground and laid at your feet. When it comes to you, I’m rootless and helpless and at your mercy for sunshine and water. And I’m not even supposed to be yours. How can I not worry?

the writing in this book is rlly something else, it felt like i was bathed in words of gold ,,, (i didnt expect to love this book as much as i did ,, my religious af™ family wld kill me if they ever find out what im up to and yet idc i love this book sm)

At least this time, it was me  and  the Hawthornes against the world.

last book ngl i was more of a grayson stan but after reading this book, i actually dont know anymore. jameson's character shift on this one is fucking delicious and superb ,, i honestly did not expect to love the ending as much as i have but gawdd i'm just happy for avery after everything she's been through. can't wait to see more of her boldness on the third book (especially now that she is legally an adult) ,, i want the chaos this series has been feeding to me and i want more of it!!

If this is what it feels like to be around someone who’s pure sunshine, I’ll willingly accept the burn. Every. Damn. Time.

the grumpy x sunshine trope in this book is so gawdam swoony and i honestly devoured each and every second of it! i wna give rowan a big fat hug (because he needs it big time) and i can't believe i actually enjoyed this book. i can't wait to read more of this series !!

I thought about what Jameson had said, that first night when he’d stepped from the fireplace into my room. Tobias Hawthorne left me the fortune—and all he’d left them was  me.

the tension between the characters in this book is foxin thicker than my thighs (and that says a lot from a thick thigh™ kinda gal). i feel like im also caught up all inbetween the drama i don't know how avery does it tbh!!! these hawthorne brothers are just so intriguing and the secrets are just so addictive.

(i'm also leaning a lot more towards grayson in this book. he is so babybear ,,, he needs a hug to be honest)

True love. The kind between soul mates. Love that she and Josh could never have. Except that falling asleep in his arms felt disconcertingly right.

i didn't expected to enjoy this book as much as i did and yet here we are. i love josh and clara's banters and angsty pining and flaring tension towards each other it makes me want to scream (but in a good way). this is such an underrated book that i wished people talked about more. i love the dual povs of the characters and how i see their perspectives towards one another. i also love the wonderfully executed build-up of slow burn and tension inside this book, it's like properly giving you some candy treats you could taste without being too sweet or too much so you could still be capable of craving of it more. overall, i really enjoyed this book and i Shamelessly (cue the reference) devoured every second of it.

“Just a quirk.” I follow him through the screen door. “Birthday wishes don’t always come true, so I don’t waste a chance when I blow out a candle.”

i need a man who'll buy me rose colored cakes everytime it's my birthday. (extra points if he's over 30 y.o) (and is my boyfriend's father)

Step after step towards home, and she couldn’t help being what the words wanted her to be, the dead girl walking. But if she sped up, she would be running instead.

me: giggling at pipravi and sighing with relief that the 'major conflict' has finally been solved

me, realizing there are still 200 chapters left in this goddamn book:

wow, the series just keeps on getting better and better. this one tops the first two without a sweat, and wraps the series with a delicate ribbon on top. i love pipravi; i would burn the world for them, and even help them get away with murder if i could. <3

“I bet everyone dreads the day they get a knock at the door from Pip Fitz-Amobi,” Ravi whispered.

liked this book so much better than the first one. the flow of the story & the way it was creatively presented through different ebbs of formatting styles (plus the pictures) really made it a lot more interactive and interesting for its readers. the character dynamics could also be seen a lot more (esp. pip and ravi) in this book! <3

ps. thank god there are no unnecessary british terms anymore (or atleast not alot more compared to the first book)

I don’t imagine there are many men, college men at that, that look at the ugliest parts of you and want you anyway. The irony is, if I were to say this to him, he’d tell me I didn’t have ugly bits.

me everytime stassie & nate show the slightest bit of affection toward each other: they are such parents. parental parents. mum and dad. father and mother. momma and papa. i love them so much.

ive never laughed so hard (and genuinely) bc of a book for years. i absolutely adore the characters and the distinct traits that make them as they are. i am now invested with this series bc im such a simple bitch to please! what can i say rlly, just give me annoyingly loveable characters and id give u my firstborn. i guess it's always been a win-win.
