This will always be my favorite high fantasy series. I wish I could read it for the first time again, because although it was still amazing on the re read, nothing will ever beat going through it the first time.
I feel like this series is a great introduction to high fantasy books. It is long and dense, as most high fantasy books are, but the writing flows so well and even the slower parts aren’t boring or like an info dump. It’s definitely YA/NA but also deals with more mature themes and situations. I have never had a series make me love so many flawed characters and genuinely felt like I knew and cared about each of by the end.
The way everything comes together in this final book is just 10/10. I cried and laughed and cried again. The first time I read this final book I actually sobbed but it was because I was so invested in all of the characters. Most of the time a battle scene in a book will be like a few chapters, but the way Sarah had this book be an amazing final stand to all the build up of the other 7 books is just unmatched. It’s sad but also so happy and tied up in the end so perfectly.
Will forever love and recommend this series.

Super cute. I feel like the banter between friends was the main hero of this book. Friends to lovers is a superior trope but the miscommunication was so frustrating. One of the funnier books I’ve read, but not as romance focused as I thought. Still a romance but friendship and being open were the main focus.
