The idea of basically a mafia Hogwarts is actually amazing. I’m honestly unsure of how to rate this. The beginning was a little slow but then from pure stress alone I could not put it down. Definitely miscommunication which is always annoying. But once the truth came out I was finally able to relax. If you’re looking for a cool concept that’ll stress you into reading it quickly, this is the book for you.

The characters felt immature at times but it wasn’t too annoying. the characters were actually developed before anything finally happens so I didn’t get super grossed out by the spicy scenes. And when the first scene happened, I didn’t have to skim it like I did in the past books. Loooved Miko as a dad and seeing him and Nessa like that made me like them even more.

Mostly enjoyed for premise and binge ability. And for being not awful like the last few books from the Brutal Birthright books.

2.5 stars. I really really wanted this to be good. I love Tessa Bailey but oh my god this was not it. It gets 2.5 stars because I did read the whole thing and the idea behind it was amazing. But the execution was just not good. Way too insta love, not enough character development, it definitely needs to be re edited because there were some sentences that made 0 sense. There was not enough relationship development for me to believe these characters were actually that into each other. I was constantly cringing because it just felt like it was trying too hard. Huge bummer.

This wasn’t as good as I expected. I loved in inclusivity but it just was meh. I just didn’t fall in love with the characters and really wasn’t invested in their love story. I felt like the author was trying to be funny at times but it just fell super flat. It was a cute enough book but it just wasn’t it for me.

This is tough to rate. At points of this book I was convinced this book was absolutely terrible. The main couples relationship was hardly developed. It was like he went from i hate you to I love you so fast and it made no sense. I will never get over the breastfeeding scene. I wish I could erase it from my brain. Just why Sophie, why. Then the most cringe worthy line that also ruined Miko and Nessas book was used again. Not once, but twiceee. I actually felt ill.

The side plot though? Phenomenal. The side characters? Fantastic. That is what saved this book. I could not care less about nix and Rafe, but everyone else was great. And the little epilogues in the last chapter was the best.

3.5. As far as PDouglas books go, this was relatively tame, but the mystery and drama was enough to still make it hard to put down. Loved Aro’s back story, but I wasn’t as invested in the characters as I have been with the other books I’ve read by her. I probably would have enjoyed this more if I read the bully series first, but idk if I can handle those.

PD books are a guilty pleasure that I’m not proud of enjoying.

5 stars for the fact that I could not put this down. I wanted to stay up and finish it but forced myself to go to sleep. Also, no third act breakup is superior.

DNF. Too dark and degrading for me.

Loved this book, cute unique, and heartwarming. Stella is a smart and successful 30 year old women who happens to have ASD. The author did an incredible job of showing that even though Stella is on the spectrum she is still completely Independent, successful, and smarter than most, while at the same time shining a light on some of the every day struggles that someone with ASD might deal with. Both characters are perfectly imperfect and I absolutely loved it.

DNF 47% of the way in. The pacing was so bad and I just could not keep going. I was so bored. I did not care about the characters at all. I just had to stop. I tried to push through but absolutely not.
