Why is it always the authors who write smut that have some of the most amazing, original ideas but ruin them with poor development?
3 stars but honestly i almost don’t know how to rate this. Was this book good? No. The characters were extremely under developed. It was short so it felt like there was 0 time for the characters to build a realistic relationship or make me invested in any of them. Lots of like shock value moments.
However, this was probably one of the coolest more original ideas I’ve read. I wish it was done better because the whole red queen, play on Alice in wonderland was actually amazing. Poor execution, but all the pieces are there. I am actually devastated that this wasn’t done better because it could have been everythinggggg. This is another book series where I wish the author would rewrite it with an editor, make it longer, develop the characters and back stories more, and focus less on shock value and smut.
I’m going to read the next one because it’s a fast read and I want to know what happens, but I would not recommend this unless you have KU and can read this without spending actual money on it.

I feel like this would be a total hit with like a sad suburban mom book club. Not for me though.
This was so cute and sweet and just overall a great read. Ending felt kinda rushed and cheesy though

Pros: the plot was so outlandish and everything happened so quickly that I read the whole thing
