That Kind of Guy

3.5. Points for no third act breakup. It was a quick and easy read and the writing was good. Pretty basic/predictable plot. Exceptionally average at best.

3.5 Overall really good. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a book couple communicate this well. Like my god, it was so healthy. I feel like there wasn’t like a super clear plot aside from the romance, which was fine. It felt kinda long at times and fillery but I still enjoyed it. The side characters aside from Lola, Robbie, Henry, and Aaron all kinda blended together.

This is like the definition of a really well done no plot just vibes book.

Oof that was by far the worst of the briar u and off campus series. I didn’t want to keep reading. Demi was beyond annoying and needed to take no for an answer. If she was a guy, everyone would be calling the police. And taking a few bachelor level psych classes doesn’t make you a therapist! That was so annoying and So cringy. The author did Hunter so dirty with his character development in this book. He was so lame and cringy. 2.5 stars

I’m struggling with how to rate this, so I’m going with 3.5. Some parts were really cute and well written, other parts were not. Some parts were actually funny, but a lot of it felt like someone trying to hard to be funny. There were a lot of cool plot points, but I just feel like they weren’t fully developed enough. I cared about the relationship a little, but not enough to love it. I didn’t not enjoy myself, but I also wouldn’t re read this book.

This was the perfect book to get me out of a reading slump. The pacing was great, the relationship development was amazing. Just enough build up to them finally getting together that it didn’t feel rushed or insta love while also having enough of the book left for them to be romantically involved.
