ARC review;
This book has consumed my thoughts! I'm completely hooked.
A mafia romance which has twists and turns that I didn't see coming. 'Touch her and die' is my favourite trope and this is just that! Passionate, dangerous and spicy.
The dual POV just made this book perfect, I loved getting both sides perspective and what they were feeling. It really bonds you to the characters. From the very beginning I was obsessed with them. Even the side characters, I want to know even more about. I cannot wait to read more by this author!
If you're looking for a spicy, mafia romance this is definitely for you!!

I'll admit I only read this book as I knew the film was coming out. I did my best not to view any spoilers before reading it.
I was hooked from the beginning. There was something about the main character that made me want to know more, want to know all her secrets. I loved the back and forth between past
and present, feeding you more a bit at a time.
I feel the story flowed really well until, the end. This is where it lost a star. The end felt so rushed and forced that it didn't quite fit with the rest of the book.
I do, however, feel a strong connection to all the characters and will watch the film, hoping they do it justice.

I really enjoyed this book. I read it a few years ago, and it was one of the first books I'd read in this genre. I. loved the back and forth through it and felt it kept it interesting and at a good pace. I lothed the main character when I watched the film ,but the book made me actually feel for her.

I absolutely loved how this story was laid out, showing the different perspectives. I stopped trying to guess what was going to happen and just let the story guide me. I enjoyed the characters, although I feel the author was trying to keep a bit of mystery to them as I didn't feel as connected as I have to others previously.
I was disappointed when it ended as I wanted more. I wasn't ready to leave this story. I was, however, really pleased to find out the book rights had been picked up to make it into a. series or film. I cannot wan't to dive back into the word of this story.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I struggled to get started with this book. I picked it up and put it down a fair few times before it kept my interest. I grew to like the characters as they developed. My favourite was the police officer. I did feel the story was a bit obvious but I did enjoy the journey. I hoped for a different ending if I'm honest so was left a bit disappointed with the conclusion.
I liked this book. However, I did momentarily forget that I had read it (otherwise it might have been more stars).
Thinking back now I remember the feeling I had when I read it, the suspense, liking the main character and I do want to read it again.
Although I did like it, I can't justify giving it more than 3 stars based on the fact that if I didn't come across it in my read list I wouldn't have remembered that I had read it.

I have such mixed feelings about this book. The story line, great. The execution, not so much.
I was slightly confused who's perspective the book was from as it's third person for the first 80% of the book. Suddenly switching for the last 20% to first person for another character.
It would have worked so much better and built the story up more if it had been alternating through the whole book. I would have liked a bit of perspective from the wife too.
I will admit that I felt a little flat at the end. The whole way through I had an idea in my head of what was going on, based on the tag line of the book and what I thought was part of the story being built, but it took a sharp left turn, and I'm still not sure I ended up in the right place. I still have some questions and feel a little unresolved to be honest.
On the plus side it's a quick and easy one to get through.
