I absolutely loved this book! Completely hooked. So invested in the story and the main character. So much so that I hated the film when it came out. The book is a million times better. It's the perfect pace to keep you interested, and I will admit I'm a sucker for any story where there is doubt cast on what has happened so that it keeps you on your toes. 5 out of 5 would recommend.

I was fully invested in this book: the characters, the plot, the twists.

It had the right amount of twist to remain realistic. I don't know if it was just because of the name of the ex reminding me of Candace from "You" but it gave me those vibes.

This was the first book I've read from this author, but I would love to read her others if they are as thrilling as this one.

Obsessed. Completely!

Check trigger warnings. 18+

I can see why people left negative reviews. However, I feel like most of those reviews are from people who didn't know what the book was about or hadn't checked the trigger warnings.

It's a story about 4 broken people and just happens to have a bunch of sex thrown in. The story still works without the sex though. The plot was good, and the understanding of how people act when they are lost and hurting. I was fully immersed in the story, and it felt like I personally knew the characters.

I cannot wait to read more by this author.

It did take me a while to warm up to the characters, but once I did, I was hooked. It's a good teen YA book. Gave me One of us is Lying vibes. I am a sucker for a whodunit story. Some of the negative reviews slating the characters actions forget that the characters are 16 year old high schoolers. Don't expect them to make good logical decisions every step of the way.

I went into this fully blind. Had no clue what the story was about when I started it. It was giving desperate housewives vibes and took a few turns I was not expecting. I was moderately invested, I think there needed to be a bit more character development to connect with the characters I couldn't really picture them. I will admit every outcome I thought was not correct so it did keep me guessing.

I want to read everything Freida McFadden has written! This book was fantastic. I loved the pace, the different povs and the twists and turns. I would like to listen to this on audio to get a feel for the tape recordings as she listened to them. Again, every though I had about it was wrong!! I was so far from guessing the truth on this one.

I love a whodunit mystery! I was obsessed with the multiple pov. It really helped you get to know the different characters and their own stories.

Samantha is flying to San Francisco with her best friend Ginny. The trip takes a bad turn when Ginny goes missing in the airport bathroom wearing Sam's jacket. Whilst trying to find out what happened to Ginny, the past unravels and secrets are revealed.

The book switches between characters and time-frames. I found it very fast paced, hard to put down and full of twists and thrills.

I enjoy when a book gives you a view into the past and how it fits with the now. I felt it was a really good psychological thriller. Looking forward to reading more from the darkness series.

⚠️ READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️

Adeline and her stalker. This is not your typical romance.

Dark and graphic, this book is not for the faint-hearted. Make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading. I looked straight at all the red flags of these characters and ignored the hell out of them. I enjoyed this book, but there were one or two scenes that I could have skipped(

This had been on my tbr for so long. Now I've finally got round to reading it, I'm a little disappointed. Set out as case notes, I thought it would be more psychological but it was very short snippets of cases. Not my cup of tea but a good palette cleanser between books.
