My Rating: 4.25⭐️

Summary: Eleanor Dash literally fell into becoming an author ten years ago after a whirlwind, crime-solving-filled trip to Italy. Now, she wants nothing more than to get through her book anniversary tour in Italy and kill off her main character, Connor Smith (in the books, not for real!!), who also happens to be her real-life ex-boyfriend. When it becomes apparent that someone truly is trying to kill Connor, Eleanor is forced into solving the case before bodies start dropping dead.

My Thoughts: A quirky, cheeky mystery that keeps you on your toes. This book honestly killed me. It felt like, as the story went on, every character gained a motive in the case while the opportunities to commit the crime grew. All the moving pieces and tidbits of clues were so fun to follow and try to pick them apart to find the truth. I loved the relationship between Eleanor and her sister, Harper, and how it evolves during the book making it feel so genuine. Do not sleep on this cozy, quirky mystery that takes you on a murderous tour of Italy. Elizabeth Evans absolutely killed it. Her narration was upbeat and witty, which gave life to every one of the characters. Her incorporation of the footnotes flowed perfectly into the story. I would highly suggest the audiobook. Can you figure out the culprit before the end?

I was hooked from the first line of book one of this series and it continues to get more phenomenal with every book!! Nisha once again did not disappoint. Gabriel's (LOVE HIS SASSINESS SO MUCH) POV was a fun addition and gave us another view of the story. It has been incredible to see how Lor continues to grow throughout this series. And Nadir continues to exceed book boyfriend goals to make me fall even more in love with him. The weaving of the history throughout the story was intriguing and sparked at least half a dozen new theories about this series! I could not be happier that the next book comes out this year cause I need answers!! Do not sleep on this series. It is a favorite for sure and should not be missed!

Sarah's Thoughts: Love, love, love this book! This best friends-to-lovers story melted my heart. It was nice to see how their friendship began in second grade. It WAS adorable. I'm always a fan of dual POV, so it was great to get a look into both their minds. I especially enjoyed the chapters that popped back in time to see how their friendship evolved and how they both supported and protected each other throughout their lives. The evolution of their relationship was so natural, and it was wonderful to see the positive effect it had on both of them individually as well. Marriage of convenience is always a favorite trope. This book mixes that with a little forced proximity, a lovingly sweet close-knit family & found family, and an adorable little babe who could melt the heart of even the burliest of hockey players. I cannot wait to catch up in the D.C. Eagles series by reading books 1 & 2, and  I especially cannot wait for the next one!
