I love the overall arc of this book, and the further insight we gained into the cast of characters. There were some really nice tense and emotional moments
The only drawbacks I have is that it feels like a lot of this book is building for the finale - while that bodes well for book four and I’m super excited for it, it made the core of this book just a touch slower than the pace that I look for in a book, but the ending was pretty frantic
Overall a great book and a solid continuation of the series

Such a beautiful book! The writing was so skilful and lyrical and the characters were amazingly detailed. The execution of writing across time periods was also done so well. This has definitely secured Schwab as one of my top authors

So so so good! Amazing follow up to the first book with incredible character development. I loved getting a multi POV, as well as more involvement from the parents’ generation. Really cool and complex and the writing was astonishing. Highly recommend

Such a beautiful book, so glad I got a physical copy! The illustrations are amazing and are used in a really ingenious way to deal with difficult subject matter.
I wish it was longer as this is mostly exposition and I blew through it so quickly, will have to pick up vol. 2!

I mean it’s a Greek-myth-inspired urban setting with smut soooo pretty much can’t go wrong
I definitely think there was scope to flesh out the side characters and the setting more, but at the same time the story and primary relationship are super enjoyable, with great chemistry and character development

I was really impressed by the storytelling in this book - the writing style combined with all the links to the original story was so well executed. It took me a few chapters to get into the book, but once it had me I was hooked 😉

This book has amazing world building and the cast of characters are all extremely well depicted, both complex and clearly motivated
On the whole the content of the book, despite the war-setting, is pretty digestible, but when it’s graphic it’s GRAPHIC so ready the trigger warnings, especially for later in the book, and look after yourself!

Honestly probably my favourite out of the first four ToG books. I loved the way the novellas were all exceptionally solid and engaging stories on their own, but also built off one another really well, and I loved the insight into the people who shaped Celaena before ToG

Welp
Amazing follow up to CC1, I laughed, I cried, I need the third book
Only reason it’s not a five is that I found it often fell into a tell rather than show pattern, but heck even those monologues were good
And the evening, just, gah- I died

A lovely soft romance with just the right amount of fluff. The end was a bit quick but the rest of the story was well paced and easy to get into. It was really nice having an autistic FMC who was well fleshed out and interesting, and I loved the way her character developed
