Loved it. A tragic tale wrapped up with hope, determination, friendship and a hint of romance.

I chose this as my free monthly book as a Prime member. I read it during a spell of insomnia and it held my attention for the whole of the book. It was excellent. The story has a present day thread which is told in every other chapter and Simon's story is told in the other chapters and jumps back a couple of years. Simone is recently diagnosed with MS and struggling, over the chapters we hear about her life and her love and her female friendships. Interspersed with this is the current storyline which sees Simone slap bang in the middle of a School shooting and how she copes with that.  It's dramatic, it's atmospheric, it's bittersweet. It's also heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. It's a whirlwind read and one that will see you wanting more.  Highly recommend.

An excellent start to a new series of police procedural murder mysteries set in Norfolk. New series to me that is. Thoroughly enjoyed the read and look forward to the development of the characters and the team.
