I KNEW I WAS RIGHTIN LOVING RHYSAND!

completely flipped the previous book around! so many twists and turns, i DEVOURED this book! i couldn't get enough, and i have such a love-hate relationship with everyone now, haha! even in the parts that made me want to weep or get angry, i was so in love with this book!!!

as always, madeline miller's writing is breath-taking! despite being so short, the story is AMAZING and conveys such deep emotions. while the original story was much happier, this really explores the misogyny and abuse that comes with control, which i absolutely loved. the quote

“If you were stone, I would chisel them off.”

genuinely gave me chills.

didn't originally know this was a re-telling of beauty and the beast, so i got a bit of a shock at times LOL! the writing is AMAZING with such complex characters! the plot became a bit predictable at times

especially with amarantha's riddle

but i geniunely have not been so obsessed with a book in a while. i LOVE lucien, and tamlin is SOO sweet. not sure why i am rooting for rhys tho, haha! so excited to start the next book

so beautifully written, with great characters and despite knowing how it ends it still made me sob. i sobbed so hard i almost threw up!!!!!!!!! the writing is amazing, and all the foreshadowing and miscommunication was so well done. could not recommend more!
