Though I wish a tiny bit more effort would have been done into explaining the magic system, I really enjoyed the FMC Lovett. She's a poorer silkwitch who is approached by Eliot to enter a competition, the Vainglory, to win the hand of the Weaver Prince.... but she has to help Eliot investigate why his sister died in this very place last year.

It took a little bit to get into the book but once I got maybe 30% in, I became very invested and finished it quickly. There were so many unique parts to this book. I fell in love with the idea of Lovett and Eliot. The ending was a bit maddening if you hate cliffhangers, but book 2 needs to be completed soon! I cannot wait to see where it can go.

Michelle comes to run her mother's inn while her sister finishes school and immediately gets sucked into her hot neighbor, Cliff's, very big orbit of happiness and single dad-dom.

While I love that this is very reminiscent of Gilmore Girls switched ( if Lorelai was grumpy and Luke was sunshine) and the 90s setting was so nostalgic, I very much enjoyed it but wouldn't say I'm raving like a lot of others.
I really liked Cliff's daughters. I liked how real Cliff's stress felt with them. I don't like the theme of the mother preferring one daughter over another (just like Michelle felt with her mom). My other favorite part was Michelle having conversations with Rocket, the dog... who has the most perfect POV at the end ☺️

Cynthia has worked for her father for 15 years and when she hears he might retire, she feels she's a shoo-in to take over. It turns out that honor is going to Rohit, a one night stand and now working at the company.

This was a fine book. It was a very fast read. I appreciated the spice though I didn't totally buy into the relationship of the characters.

I felt bad for poor Cynthia who had obviously been busting her butt for her dad's company for several years and he didn't think, at all, she might have wanted to take over when he retired? How could he not see it? Oh yeah.... the all male board didn't let him really see her value.

Rohit, though for a very worthy reason, should not have withheld something so big from his employer (Cynthia's dad). I thought how it all came to a head and then understanding was a little too neat and may not have worked in the real world.

Luke is a military career man who helps Harper, who breaks down in town, when both step in to save a woman. Since Harper needs a place to stay, she is roped into staying at Luke's place... if she will be his pretend girlfriend for a month.

Luke and Harper both are broken people for different reasons. Both made me cry at times. This small little town of Benevolence really bands together in times of trouble and peace. There are 2 adorable foster dogs that I loved. Two sets of people finding love with each other when they need it the most. There was so much laughter and so many tears and just beautiful themes that make the 400+ pages just fly by.

This book has a great setting and a great plot with so much tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the conclusion.

I love that the characters had to band together to survive. Kenzie is a great help as a nurse and they may not have survived much without her. Leah is the very protective mother that will do anything to keep her son, Chris, safe. Chris is a pretty scrappy 10 year old. He did make some mistakes but of course at his age, that's bound to happen.

I read this pulse pounding book in a few hours, I was just glued to the pages for the duration.

While I didn't quite feel the emotions I did with book 1, this was still an interesting premise. It takes place a year after book 1 and Oliver has been messaging Sam's phone because it brings him comfort among the memories he has with his best friend. One day he accidentally dials the number and he connects with Ben.

Just like book 1, you need to suspend belief but still keep an open mind. I really liked the class Oliver takes with Julie's mom in philosophy. It really sets the tone of what is going on with Ben and Oliver. I thought the end was perfect for the characters but that's all I can say so I don't spoil a thing.

Grady is a writer and just as his newest book hits the bestseller list, his wife disappears and there goes his writing ability. A year later, his agent sends him to a remote island of Scotland to try and get him to write again.

Ok this was so atmospherically dark and moody. I, myself, felt the isolation that Grady did. The small amount of islanders with their creepily friendly smiles and their way of ushering Grady away from finding out the reality gave me shivers. I had a plot twist figured out but there were 2 plot twists that shocked me to my core.

This was a shorter, but still fast paced ride 😂 in the F1 racing world. Mia is a podcaster known for her F1 knowledge and her very unfiltered observations of her (secretly) favorite driver, Xander. Granted this season, he's not performing his best on the track. When he invites her to one race as a guest and a big finger to his teammate/rival, it might just change both their lives.

A little too insta love for me but I did enjoy Mia's and Xander's relationship (even if they had to hide it for reasons I can understand). With an obvious rocky start, I think they brought out the best in each other. They helped each other see their worth and their strengths. Their next step to the next step of their relationship I felt was very fast paced too.

It was an interesting premise...Bella gives only 3 dates so she can't catch feelings and Makoa gives 3 dates before getting intimate because of their pasts. I really understood the reason for Makoa doing this but Bella unfairly lumps every guy in like her ex.

I just felt that Makoa should have come clean before she figured it out herself. The way it happened was just a big fat slap in the head. But I also couldn't forgive Bella after he confessed why he didn't tell her the truth.

I do need to go back and read the first book because I really enjoyed Gemma.

Traveling nurse Elizabeth May, she has many names and many jobs to people in her life, this she doesn't trust anyone. She's been in hiding for many, many years from an incident that occurred with some possible crimes when she was 5 years old.

I felt the people who Elizabeth thinks may be stalking her are really seeming unfair to her. I mean she was 5 years old when she gave witness to this crime and you can't expect a 5-year-old to really know what's real and what's not at that age.

I had in my head who the stalker might be and I was a little bit right in my thinking but there was a tiny twist in who that person actually was. I can see why she had to lie to protect herself but honestly I couldn't keep any of it straight if I was her.
