The romance in the beginning of the novel was great. But the “twist” of pregnancy was in my opinion ridiculous. Heath had an interesting backstory but the baby element I couldn’t get behind at all. And then were just supposed to believe that him and Kat are “happy” at the end despite having to co parent in an extremely odd situation? Left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The setting and writing in this was gorgeous. It read like a love story to reading and libraries. Unfortunately, the beautifully written book became like a tome about half way through. There was really no plot to speak of, just a meandering tale of various metaphors, fairy tales and legends.
