The Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman

Did not finish book. Stopped at 39%.
I loved the world building and humor of the first book. This prequel felt flat. For me, there was far too much "tell" and not enough "show." There were numerous times in the book when the MC would say "here is a letter my brother received" and it would be printed word for word. I can't continue reading something that is boring me and that I am hesitant to pick up again.

Something about this will really stick with me. This book made me laugh, think, and tear up a couple times and I loved it for that.
