I really enjoyed reading this, but some of the scenes felt rushed, and the ending felt like it was just for shock value rather than because that’s where this story was actually leading. The scene looking for the All-Seeing Stone, and the traps…? One of the dumbest things that happened in this book.
But despite my complaints, the story has my attention. I’ll be reading the second book next.

It reads like a fanfic. I couldn’t really connect to the characters, the scenes moved too fast, everything felt like I was reading something I would’ve written when I was 16. I’m not really sure how to explain it beyond that, there wasn’t anything inherently wrong with the book… it just read as fan fiction.
