AMAZING word building and character devolopments, and I genuinely mean it. Especially the relationship between Shiori and her brothers, the love beneath all those annoyance, its all amazing. Honestly one of the most refreshing reads I've had because of the importance given to the sibling relationship.

THIS BOOK IS THE BREATH OF RELIEF AFTER ALL THE ANGST MEATBUN DROPPED ON US AND I LOVE IT
also ranwan confession??? the ranwan art panel??? every single ranwan moment in the book??? mo ran rushing to save chu wanning when xu shuanglin hit him??? THIS IS ALL SO MORE THAN I ACTUALLY IMAGINED I LOVE YOU MEATBUN (u better not hit us with more angst)
but the plot twists were as insane too, rufeng sect being burnt down, nangong xu randomly showing his face (his reason for hurting nangong liu is so valid but WHAT ABOUT THOSE COMMONERS WHO BURNT DOWN TOO???), ye wangxi being a girl, THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN YE WANGXI AND NANGONG SU OMG. im so happy that song bitch is gone now i hated her for framing my little baby (wangxi) like that
BUT OVERALL. READ.THIS.BOOK. i will forever reccommend it to anyone who wants to read a thrilling danmei

that is literally how the book left me, and im going to be really honest, volume three HAS to be the best one out of the 3 published rn. I AM SO EXCITED FOR VOL 4 AFTER THIS.

gu mang regaining his memories was so so sooo unexpected and sudden. and moreover, MURONG CHUYI??? I AM SO HAPPY MY MAN IS GETTING MORE AND MORE ATTENTION NOW, i need to know whats happening between him and jiang fexue (i think that was his name, im sorry im an old woman) and then mo xi trying to help gu mang in the time mirror to him helplessly staying by gu mangs side. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH MEATBUN'S WAY OF WRITING AND HER CONTRASTS AND SIMILIES AND METAPHORS AND EVERYTHING TO THE WAY SHE SHOWS THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT UGH ITS SO PRETTY, LIKE THE EMPERORS CHARACTER CHANGING IS SO VISIBLE, AND GU MANG'S TOO. im gonna be so honest, i like no memory gu mang more than general gu. general gu is just hurting my baby mo xi now GAH JUST KISS ALREADY BOTH OF YOU. omg also a lu zhanxing art panel?? his past lore uncovered?? i will never forgive that man for how he ruined gu mangs life

Ann Liang is the best author I have found writing the best romance and academic rivals to lovers. Finding her through If You Could See The Sun and then reading this, everything was so perfect. The plotline, the dialogues, the little hidden romance, the rivalry and hatred mixed with love, this blended shake of I Hope This Doesn't Find You would be perfect for someone who isn't so sure about their next read.
