This was an enjoyable summary of the Voyager tv series, with some additional details about Captain Janeway, her crew, and life before and after the Delta quadrant..

I picked up this book because it was being advertised as an optimistic look at the future. In some ways, it was. Unlike many books about the near future, it does not describe an apocalypse. However, it is not a very cheerful optimism either. It is much more realistic, describing the world as a messy thing with many challenges to overcome through imperfect solutions. If you want to learn a lot about what some of those solutions could be, this is the book for you!

This book made me feel kind of old. I can enjoy many a YA novel, but this one put the Y in YA. However, it was still an enjoyable light-hearted read for a chaotic week.
