I found this randomly while looking through audiobooks on google play. It sounded fun to me and i got sucked right into it!

The audiobook is about an american boy who had no idea of the wizarding world. He got a letter halfway the year and got into Hogwarts. He got sorted into Slytherin in the same year as the golden trio. He has to navigate through the first year while there is a serpent on the loose that patrifieds halfbloods and muggleborns. Atop of that he opened the chamber and can speak parsletongue!

I thought this was a very fun take on the first book of the Harry Potter books! It still follows kind of the same story line of the original book but from the perspective of a slytherin who may or may not be the heir of slytherin.

The names for obvious reasons were changed to names that made me snort every time i heard it. The story is humoristic and the person who reads it has a very nice voice to listen to!

this book is one of my favourites that i got to read this year!

The world building felt so magical! From shadowmarkets to a secret library! The way it was written felt like i was there myself, seeing the scenes happen!

I am obsessed with the writing style of this writer as everything feels written in such a great poetic way!

Characters were so greatly written! The chemistry between them is written great and absolutely there. It was like i felt it through the pages! Reading it was easy and fast, got through it so quickly!

Overall a great read and i would for sure reread this book again! Thank you Laura for having me on the team for this book series and i so cant wait to read the 2nd book😍

This was such an interesting, fun, intrigueging read! I have read this book as an eARC and man i am so happy i did and it was so good that i have already pre-ordered a paperback of this book!

The end of this book was so painful i want to have the second book so badly already🥲 what i like about this book is that the characters aren't always in the right and have to put work into it. It made it more relatable!

We get to follow 8 people and not just the main 2! We get to know about their lifes too, about their love stories and life struggles which is a huge plus to me! I hope we get to know even more of the side characters in the next book!

The world building was very solid! You don't get all the information of the whole world in once but more and more the further you read into the book. Its hard to read when all the information gets shoved down your throat in once so to get to know the world one by one was a very nice thing! I can totally imagine the world and got so many questions out of curiousity.

The magic system is similar to other magic systems but also not at the same time! New turns were put into the magic system which is very refreshing!

There were so many things i had to annotate from crying out of pain, yelling at the characters for how stupid they were sometimes, yelling in happiness about things. Gave me so many emotions!

I read this book within a few hours in once through and this was such an adorable but also spicy read at the same time!

I love the characters so much! Tomorrow is an adorably awkward but sunshine person i just got very happy from! And dark is grumpy but would protect tomorrow at all costs which was absolutely adorable! Their romance went deep and emotional and is so sweet!

Then the spice came in and i was not prepared for a moment for the tail play but honestly im all here for it🥵

The world was a bit confusing for me at the beginning but i got the hang of it a little! This book can be read as a standalone but the writer recommends to read it as a series and honestly i just need the rest of the books as i read this as a standalone. I am eager for more!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
