"How would you know I didn't seduce you?
His smile crooked higher. "Because you wouldn't have to."

THOUGHTS:

- I liked it better than PWMOV
- The T.Swift reference (exchanging messages by the window using a notebook or any piece of paper) got me giggling
- I like the characters and their flaws
- I never thought that comedic banter can be sexy, or maybe it's a Gus Everett thing

Overall:
It took time for me to get hooked on the book, but as I progressed, I really enjoyed it more than my first Emily Henry book. Looking forward to her other stories.

You light up when Jamie walks into the room just as he does when he catches a glimpse of you. You hang on his every word and he on yours. You love him just as much as he loves you, and you're lying to yourself every time you tell yourself you don't.

This would've been a charming romance story. A noble and a commoner falling in love who wouldn't swoon, right? Well, I didn't.

The main characters are very unlikeable, especially Molly. I get where she's coming from and I don't want to invalidate that. The fact that she's steadfast about not going into a relationship with someone who lied to her while she herself is lying to her best friend and herself makes her look like a hypocrite (for me).

There's also so little build-up with Molly and Al's relationship. The author keeps on telling about the couple's this and that, how the two fell in love etc. but as the reader, I couldn't relate or feel any giddiness or kilig while reading their supposed romantic scenes. They felt empty, though the ending was kinda okay.

There are a lot of Austen references in this story, and if you dig that, give this a try.

"The truth is, I'm scared to death of Ryan Henderson. He's my kryptonite. An arrow that shoots straight to my heart and never misses."

Many people say this has an enemies-to-lovers trope, and I disagree. It's more like childhood enemies to a second chance at love kind of trope. June can sometimes be annoying because she's so childish despite her age, but who am I to call her for that when I'm also like that? Petty and childish. LOL.

I love all the characters in this sequel, most especially RYAN HENDERSON. He's a green flag for me after reading so many stories with morally gray and red flag male leads.

For me, this is a good sequel for The Match, despite reading other reviews that it isn't.

The two books in this series are definitely must-reads. <3

P.S.
Men written by women authors will always be top-tier. LOL. <3

One word: MINDBLOWN 🎆

I can't put down the book the moment I started reading it. Did I finish it at 6am despite having to work at 8am the same day? Yes. Lmao.

I'm so happy with who Avery ended up with. 💕

This is definitely a must-read. An exceptional ending to the trilogy.
Damn, I can't even make a cohesive review since I'm still hung over it.

"I know what it's like to want better for someone than what they want for themselves. But sometimes you have to accept that some people are just the way they are and there's no saving them."

I have no idea about this being a Reylo fanfic since I'm no Star Wars fan. All I know is that they associated the male lead with Adam Carlsen, but I think there's quite a difference for me.

Reggie is hilarious, and Ben is added to my long list of book boyfriends. LOL. I love how overprotective he is with Reggie because the latter tends to get in trouble most of the time. The banter is good and damn, I didn't expect it to be that spicy. And who cares if the characters have a 400+ y.o. age gap? I still like them together. LOL.

I really enjoyed reading this. It's cute and entertaining. And I totally recommended reading this if you enjoyed The Ex Hex and if you like the enemies-to-lovers trope and grumpy x sunshine energy.

P.S.
Must watch out scenes: Reggie spying on Ben using a crystal ball. The library, and the freaking WELL scene.
