BK Borrison writes such sweet romances with sprinkles of spice throughout. Beckett is a grumpy on the outside with a secretly sweet inside for those he cares about. Evelyn is trying to rediscover herself and what she wants which is relatable. I also appreciate that they are quite supportive of each other. I found this book to be not as strong as Lovelight Farms mainly due to the heavy reliance on the miscommunication trope. While it made sense for one the characters to struggle to communicate, the utter lack of communication between the two for the third act conflict was frustrating. Despite that I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. I’m excited to continue on with the series!

How have I taken this long to read this book?! This one may be my new favorite friends to lovers book! Lovelight Farms is the perfect cozy Christmas read. You will be swooning along with the characters. Luka is a babe and a half, so sweet supportive and caring. Stella is very relatable. These two had such a deep and meaningful friendship, it was really beautiful seeing it evolve into a romantic relationship. Also, shout out to the side characters because they were equally as fun and enjoyable. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a romance that will give you all the warm fuzzies (with a smattering of spicy moments). This one is a must read this Christmas season!

DID NOT FINISH: 0%

I could not buy into the over the top plot that was being set up. Two people meet one time at age 14 and live rent free in each other’s heads for the next 16 years? I also hate that the MMC’s name is Beat.

A curse breaker and archeologist falling in love at a cursed castle? What a fun and unique concept for a romcom! I thought this book had a creative plot surrounding the premise (and curse). I wish that creativity led to a stronger romantic connection between the two MCs. The enemies to lovers was not fleshed out enough, there was a hard pivot from one to the other without any real relationship building. I needed the characters to form a deeper emotional connection to buy into them as a couple. I had higher hopes for this one and was a little disappointed.

This one is for the Hallmark Christmas girlies who also like a side of smut! While this one was not as strong as Merry Little Meet Cute, I did enjoy reading this sequel. I like Kallum and Winnie, definitely two characters you root for. The spice delivered but I felt like I needed a little more for the characters when it came to talking about themselves and their feelings. The two conflicts in the timeline detracted from the growth arc in my opinion. If the book was a little shorter and had stronger communication I think it would have been a home run. I still recommend this for a festive read!

This novella is a quick read. While I assumed it would be Christmassy since it takes place in the Christmas Notch universe it was not. It was fun diving back into that world and seeing some of the characters again. I liked Luca and Angel but their story is full of miscommunication and getting in your own way by not opening up. I find those tropes frustrating especially when what is going on in the characters heads cannot be fleshed out due to the page count of a novella. It’s a quick and spicy read but did fall short of my expectations after loving Merry Little Meet Cute last year.

This is a quick holiday novella that is perfect for fans of the snowed in together trope. The second chance romance aspect definitely heightens the tension. I feel like this story needed more pages to really flesh out the plot it tried to tackle. Their resolution felt rushed considering their minimal communication. It made it harder to connect with the characters. Despite that this novella will have you wanting to curl up by the fireplace.

If you are into a childhood rivals to lovers you’ll enjoy this one. The book starts off with the two MCs being very antagonistic with each other. Honestly for me it was a little much at times I needed them to stop metaphorically poking at each other. Over time you get to see them rebuild their friendship and then evolve into more. I like Julian and Dahlia. For much of the book Dahlia misunderstands him but eventually she sees him for who he is. I felt her trust issues were valid and handled well. I enjoyed this one but I am so ready for book 2 with Rafa (I am sensing a single dad nanny trope!)

Such a cute Christmassy short story featuring Lola and Wyle from the Cottonwood Cove series! I enjoyed this quick and fun story. While it was well written it did leave me wanting a full length book for them. Laura Pavlov never disappoints!

What a fun Christmas short story! I love that each chapter is from each of the MMCs from the series, it’s nice diving back into their heads even briefly. I also really liked that they were not standalone chapters but rather each played a part in an overall plot. If you loved the Chesnut Springs series you’ll enjoy this quick Christmas story!
