I wish I could inject each and every word written by the author into my veins little by little. But I was so curious that I read it so fast . But no. I don't regret it.

Usually I am not a big fan of books having queer themes. But this book was different . Something beyond perfection.  Something I can't define.

I am afraid to review this book because you have to be very careful when reviewing a great book im order not to tarnish even a little bit of its sparkling perfection. So I won't take the risk but I'll list down what I loved about the book.

A month ago I finished " The Selection" which was a smooth read. It sets in dystopian America where the people are divided into casts according to the professions of their ancestors so that one is obliged to follow the same career as his ancestor.

America Singer is a young girl who belongs to the 5th class where the artists belong to. The story starts with America receiving a letter where she is invited for THE SELECTION ; the contest where a wife for the crown prince is chosen. Despite her family's great persuasion America hesitates to apply for The Selection because her heart was already taken by Aspen whose cast is lower than hers. When Aspen dumps her telling that he could not provide for her , America chooses to participate The Selection half-heartedly , competing with 32 young ladies and ultimately traps in a love triangle with Aspen and Maxon , the crown prince.

A red-head girl full of hallucinations and a mouth stuffed with a substantial vocabulary is adopted by the old Cuthbert siblings. Marilla and Mathew Cuthbert wanted an orphan boy to help them with the outdoor works but however as an inconvenience of the stupid messenger , Anne was brought instead. Thus the calamity commences.

This is the second book of The Selection series. Indeed this is a soft read which only took me a day to finish.  In the first book , America Singer is selected as a contestant of The Selection where a wife is chosen for the crown prince of Illéa. Now woth the group of 36 six girls narrowed down to the six Elite the competition to win Maxon, the prince's heart is more pressurized. Nevertheless , America , knowing that the prince has feelings for her , is struggling to get out of the love triangle ; Maxon - America - Aspen ( her ex )

What does it feel like having to live in different countries and you don't know where you exactly belongs to ?

Well, Crystal Z Lee has addressed this question smoothly through her book. "Love And Other Moods" transported me into China and I had a good time there. This book outstands the other books I've read that are set in China because the author has given life to her words in an enchanting way.

I wish I could relive the moment I read the line "Kaz Brekker didn't need a reason."

I thought that I won't finish this . I thought that I won't love this. But after all I did !

This is my first book set in Grishaverse . So all the things in the book were foreign to me. The first chapter was like " what is grisha? " "what is this" "what is that?" So I kept the book aside.

And I took it again and proceeded with chapter 2 , chapter 3 and then I've reached the end. ❤ Did I tell that the book smells good ?

So the book is about a heist schemed by Kaz Brekker , a criminal prodigy along with his crew of 5 , a sharpshooter , a runaway , a spy , heartrender and a convict. They all are unique , dangerous , fearless and most importantly unstoppable.

This book was such a good companion. I was lost in a whole new world. The POV is shifted from person to person when the chapters shift and it makes the plot greater. The plot provides the backstories of the six crows while moving so fastly , every turn unpredictable.

Ketterdam is a corrupted city and Kaz will rule it one day. Kaz is now one of my most favorite master schemers. My favorite POV was Kaz's because he is always unpredictable and it was the only way to really know whats in his mind. (Despite already knowing that most of his thoughts end up with The Wraith in a tiny corner) I love the chemistry between him and Inej , his secret spy. I love everything about the book ; the twists , the backstories , the tension and everything.

If you have not read this yet, what are you waiting for?
