I'm sorry but I didn't like this one bit. Maybe the age gap was okay but the boyfriend's dad trope nah count me out
WHAT DID I JUST READ AND WHY WAS I OBSESSED WITH IT Bro I just finished it and I'm staring at the ceiling confused
Okay let's start of with Lowen. She was an okay person throughout the beginning and middle of the book. BUT THE END REALLY PISSED ME OFF. OKAY yes you found the letter which clearly states It was a way for Verity to get into the mindset of becoming a villain and it was all just a lie. But miss know it all here FLUSHED IT DOWN THE TOILET?! EXCUSE YOU BUT JEREMY DESERVES TO KNOW. YES HE SHOULD FEEL GUILTY?? And girl why were you homewreckering?? GURL YOU'RE BEING PAID TO WRITE THE GODAMN BOOK JUST DO YOUR JOB. Miss girly here was talking forever to read the manuscript! LIKE HUH I WOULD BE SO INVESTED.
Jeremy. Man what verity described of you made me absolutely love you. And yes I understand coming from him imagine how he would've felt knowing all of those and thinking it was real. I wouldn't have blamed him it was possiblity that shows how good of a writer she was. But my mind still goes back to the letter. He should have read it. He needed the closure.
VERITY. She creeped me out so much. Her character was so easy to villianize especially with the help of the manuscript. THE MANUSCRIPT. LET ME TELL YOU I WAS IN ABSOLUTE SHOCK WHEN I READ IT. Her mind was absolutely CRAZY. When I read it it gave me chills reading how someone could be terrifying cold towards a child. Knowing how she wanted to murder them since birth because she was jealous of them??? I was in utter shock. BUT THE LETTER GAVE ME A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE. All she wanted to do was be a good mother and wife. Harper's dead was an accident and she must've felt absolutely horrible for it. And that made me absolutely sorry for her. He should've read the letter. But I wouldn't blame either of them. Verity should have told Jeremy about the manuscript and why she wrote it. I think things would have been different.
But I'm team manuscript all the way. It is absolutely so staged that she wanted to say all of this LITERALLY after he found the manuscript. I think it was just a way to cover up her tracks. The manuscript felt so real there was no way it wasn't true.
5/5 ⭐ !!

This book had such a huge hold on me to the point I was in absolute shock
Let's start with the writing okay. The writing was an absolute masterpiece. All the characters were written so creatively and so well. I absolutely loved that the book had SO MANY TWIST AND TURNS which was SO GOOD!! I loved how this book always had me thinking and questioning so much about how it would end but I just couldn't. I loved that It had me thinking that Her husband did it to Edward but I never expected Claire to be the one that made her. The whole diary entries was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. The way it was written that made me think that it was Amber writing them and not Claire. That was just written absolutely well. I also loved the nursery rhymes element in the book. It gave an eerie feeling which gave a whole different experience to the book.
Amber Taylor Reynolds Her character was written so well. I loved how her relationship with Claire really changed her life completely. How Claire waltz her way into her life and become her so called "sister" because Claire has always wanted her life. How her parents preferred Claire over Taylor as their daughter. How in the end she didn't want Claire in her life. Not as a friend and definitely not as her sister.
The sound of the twins crying shatters the silence. I lean down closer to the bed, hoping she can hear them. All day long. I whisper in her ear, ‘Two peas in a pod.’
THIS part had me absolutely shook. I have mixed feelings to the whole Amber murdering her Claire the same Claire murdered her parents.
All in all I absolutely loved this book.

At this point don't even call it a thriller/mystery book if there wasn't any good plot twist and turns which were interesting enough to be read.
Okay I've been reading alot of thriller books lately and this book was not giving anything. There were absolutely no elements which had me shook except for the fact that Theo was the one who injected her with morphine to basically silence her forever. That too wasn't all that "good". The book was boring and I don't know why I kept reading it maybe hoping for it to redeem itself but trust me it didn't. I was hoping for the book to give more than it should have tbh. According to booktok this was presumably the "best thrillers". Yeah no it isn't. It was just too much irrelevant storylines. Like for the fact it was completely unnecessary for the whole Theo and his therapist storyline.
One more thing. Where was the explanation for Alicia's silence? That she had nothing to say? And when she wanted to it was too late and of no use? Come on what is that! That was not a good explanation?! I expected better from this. It didn't not live up to the hype AT ALL . The whole story was bland and filled with absolutely no good twists.
At this point take it off your tbr. It's not worth it. A waste of my reading time.

One of my absolute faves book that I've read in the past years. Totally recommend it's a short cutesy romance book. It was giving 13 going on 30
