One of absolute faves book. I have read so many versions of this book more than I can count and it just keeps getting better and better each time.
If you've read the book before watching the movie you'd definitely know how good the book was cause the movie was not giving at all. The book had me head scratching thinking how the book was about to end. Although it wasn't THAT good but it was okay if you just had a reading slump to get you back to reading.
DNF @ 30% because it was just bland
Tbh I expected way much than what it was giving because the Goodreads reviews on it was raving about this book and how good it was. Maybe at the start it was going good a little slow but I thought okay maybe it'll get to the point but I'm sorry it was just so draggy. There were no good story or plot twist which wanted me to continue reading this book. When I was reading this book it didn't look as if I was reading a good mystery/thriller book.
Not only was the writing absolutely bland it was also the characters in the book which were super boring and not interested at ALL. The MC in the book had nothing interesting about her which captured the essence of book.
Overall definitely one the bottom 3 mystery books I've read this year. Definitely a no

If you're looking for a good mystery/thriller book that will keep you guessing who the killer was, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU
The book has 3 different POV which includes one of the MC Anna Andrews who is a TV presenter at BBC and one of the other MC DCI Jack Happer who is the detective on the murder case that happened in his town. He also happens to be the ex husband of Anna and the other POV of the killer.
The story starts with this one lady Rachel Hopper who basically gets murdered in a brutal way in the woods and the catch was the killer tied a friendship bracelet on her tongue. Anna is asked to go to the town to cover the story and at the same time her ex husband also investigates the murder.
The one thing that had me wondering was all the murderer's POV was so vague and had me switching from Anna to Jack to Catherine. The plot was written so well and amazing. The story behind all the murders were all written so well with a good backstory. It was never a bore reading this book at all. How all the girls wore masks of perfection to cover up their lies and disgusting behaviours. The things they did to Anna and most importantly Catherine was absolutely shocking. Anna's whole 16th birthday would've traumatized her so much that it makes sense that she doesn't want to come back to Blackwood anymore.
When I tell you of how good this book was I'm actually not kidding. It had me in such a twist trying to figure out who actually killed all this ladies and why. And at the end I found out who killed her and why. OMG I WAS SHOOK. It had me looking up at the wall and staring at it thinking about what I've just read.
"There are at least two sides to every story; yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. I always prefer my own".
This line had me absolutely shook and I love it. Alice Feeney absolutely did an amazing job with this book. Can't wait to read more of her work. Definitely one of my top reads this year!

After completely reading the entire book I finally understood the brutal tittle. This story revolves around the life of Jennette McCurdy who grew up being forced into the Hollywood business by her mother in hopes of making it to the big screen and "to have a better life than her mother ever did".
Reading about the tortures that she had to go through this whole experience was absolutely heartbreaking for me. Knowing how she was so tortured by her narcissist mother who made her become anorexic and encouraged her to not eat. Having someone shower you until the age of 17 and to feel violated like that with no privacy at all was heartbreaking. Knowing that she was exploited as a child and treated like shit by that creep Dan Schneider ( although she never mentioned his name) was horrible. Knowing that even though going through all that she could make so many people laugh with her powerful acting Including me. Never would I have ever thought she would be going through something like this.
She had also dedicated a few chapters talking about her experience on Sam and cat which was absolutely horrible. Having to work with someone she didn't like and someone who wouldn't put in the same amount of work was absolutely awful. You could tell how the favourites were being played and it was awful. She also talks about how when the show ended everyone blamed her for it claiming Ariana got a higher pay but it was actually due to allegations of sexual abuse of the creators.
In the book Jennette talks about her bulimia and alcohol abuse and how she couldn't control it. She talks about her unhealthy coping methods with everything leading her to binge eat and purge everything afterwards. She talks about feeling guilty for eating because if her mother were there she would've commented and shame her for it. She talks about extremely important points of how she copes with it later in the book and she is in the road to recovery now.
This book was so hard to read for me but I'm glad I did. Knowing all of this made me appreciate her even more. Her writing skills was absolutely wonderful with a bit of humour but still maintaining her point of view towards everything. She discusses about how being forced Into this career has emotionally and mentally damaged her from a young age. She finally has come to terms that her mother was abusive towards her whole childhood to adulthood and exploited her.

This book was so unique with so many shocking twists and turns and yet another win for Alice Feeney.
Okay let's start off with the main story of the book. The book is about how this couple which has been married for 10 years and each anniversary they exchange a traditional gift like a paper crane, iron key and alot of other stuff. So to like basically save their marriage they take a short trip that was one by the MC Amelia Jones to this old estranged house with her husband to like basically fix their marriage.
The story had such a unique element to it with it's different types of POV. The one thing I absolutely loved about this book would probably be the anniversary letters that was written for the male MC Adam which was basically a thing which she started doing after reading his screenplay Rock , Paper Scissors.
Let me tell how I was absolutely shocked with all of the twists that was in the book. It had me staring at the book and wondering what I just read. I cannot stress on how good the book was.
Although if you're familiar with Alice Feeney's books you'd probably not feel that this is such a great book. It's a really good book but it isn't her best. So if you haven't read any of her other books this book will be a great start for you.
Another great job by Alice Feeney can't wait to read more of your work!

This has to be one of the top 3 best mystery books I've read of all time
This story revolves around Daisy Darker’s entire family is assembling for her Nana’s 80th birthday party in her Nana’s crumbling gothic house on a tiny tidal island. Finally back together one last time on her 80th birthday. The family is filled with deep and dark secrets which each one of them are keeping which could more darker than they know.
Until that night one by one of them is killed each hour. Leaving the rest shook and scared wondering who did it. Everyone isn't safe in that house. Everyone has a dark secret. Secret worth killing.
The book is narrated by Daisy Darker which is the youngest of the siblings and the youngest granddaughter in the family. The book flows through the past and the present which I thought was a very good concept.
The one thing that I absolutely loved about the book was the poem element in the book. Not only was the very unique it gave a very eerie feeling to it which made it absolutely interesting.
This is not your normal murder mystery. With all the twist and turns it will definitely keep you up all night wondering who did it.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast read with a thrill.
Another great write by my all time favorite Alice Feeney. Love this book!!

This book was an absolute masterpiece one of my top favourites!
This book was completely unnecessary and let me tell you why.
First off Atlas and Lily's relationship was completely bland?? It wasn't giving anything at ALL. Honestly I expected more from this book.
•The whole thing that really bugged me was that half of this book was literally filled with flashbacks which included scenes from the first book. It was like I was reading it all over again?? Totally unnecessary.
•THE ELLEN LETTERS???? I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT WAS NECESSARY??! As a grown adult she did not need to do that. And before y'all come for me and say oh it's her choice and stuff. YES IT'S HER CHOICE BUT IT ISN'T NECESSARY.
But was it not as a bad read maybe.
•THEN WE HAVE THIS AGGRAVATING SHIT RYLE This man can NOT take a hint?? Not only did he try to attack Lily EVEN AFTER SHE PITIED HIM WITH THE CUSTODY AGREEMENTS, This man continued to harass her constantly and keep gaslighting her from the fact that he was the one abusing her.
•One thing that absolutely carried the book was MY MAN THEO. This boy was out here making fun of sweet Atlas HAHAHHA.
•I think the relationship Atlas had with his brother was actually really sweet Not that we need any confirmation on how sweet he is but this was actually really wholesome<3
•ATLAS This man actually deserves the world and all the happiness he can get. All the things he went through and still managed to be strong.
AHHH I'm sure he cannot do any wrong cause even when THAT TRASH RYLE BASICALLY ATTACKED HIM, he still kept calm and EVEN GAVE HIM ADVICE.
If it takes a million kisses for her not to think about the scars that surround her heart tattoo, then I’ll kiss her there a million and one times.
AHHHH WHEN IS IT MY TURN FOR MEN LIKE THIS
