This book. It’s a teen fiction, but I liked it. It made me wonder who’s the villain, and I was not expecting it. Well it’s a typical mystery, but I was still surprised, got me screaming OMG when I realized who’s the killer. A good book.

This was such a fun read. I read this because I want to take a break from heavy reads, and it did the job. It’s funny and I like the push and pull between Josh and Clara. It’s a unique trope because its about a pornstar and a prude being roommates. I like how they tried to divert from each other only to attract each other. The only thing that I’m annoyed at is that they both jump into conclusions and waited for each other when they could’ve talk it out. Over all, it’s such a fun read and I really enjoyed the book.

I think this is one of my good reads this year. This book is about Hazel, an aspiring surgeon, and Jack, a resurrection man, which digs up corpses. The idea of the two meeting is already a splendid idea. I really lived for the plot. 

The story is set on a victorian timeline? Where Lords and Ladies titles still exist. I love how I got a glimpse of medicine in that era. This maybe fiction but it give me an idea about the field if medicine that time. The difference of being a physician and a surgeon is well demonstrated. As well as poverty being one of the greatest illness in the community. Knowledge is indeed a power and a weapon and it can either be a cure, or a poison, depending on how it was used. Again, it may be fiction but I can say it is really well researched because of the terms used. As a medical student myself, i find it accurate and enjoyable to see what I’ve been studying into a fiction book. I remember my Pharmacognosy subject in Hazel’s remedies using plants for medicine. I commend. 

It also portrayed the struggle of being a medical student. The uncertainty, the self esteem, the feeling of being never enough, all was felt by Hazel, and I really relate to that. Portrayed as well is the beauty of being a physician, the felling of having of help to someone in need, and inspiring others,  not to become a physician too, but to be grateful of life. 

It is indeed a love story, dangerous, but beautiful. Sad, but I’m contented with the ending. 

It was a good book. I enjoyed it and it was a good read as a break for my studies.

It took me a while to finish it, because a lot of things got into way. I got busy and stuff. Overall, it’s a good read. I find myself giggling and swooning over little moments of Libby and Jack. Very informative too because it really depict the experience of having propagnosia.

Didn’t really had an impact to me. Maybe not just for me. The build up of the story is slow. But I like how it made me confused. Still a good read.

Finally, the drama I’ve been looking for. This Noah seduced Wren and tried to pit them against each other. Which did not work, tho it almost. I had goosebumps whenever Wren was attracted by darkness. I also loved the revelation. Hell yeah, these two were not just based on myths about Persephone and Hades, but they were indeed the descendants of two. They were the Melinoe. I love Persephone and Hades and I was really amazed how they correlated it to the story. A twist I never expected. I love it. I was also amazed that they become The Melinoe. Gosh. I can really picture it. The POV was different from Lark and Wren. It was really The Melinoe, daughter of Hades and Persephone.

I just don’t like the unnecessary flirting remarks. And I’m still wishing that Lark and Mace end up together. I’m sorry Ben. You’re a good guy, but I really like Mace for Lark.

The story is about a twin sisters, but there’s a catch. One is dead, one is alive. Wren is dead since birth, and she really had a strong bond with Lark, her living sister. Together they find friends, and destroy an evil spirit who was a threat for their life. 

I loved their bond as sisters, and the confidence of Lark when it comes to the dead. She’s awkward with the living, but she’s really brave and ferocious when it comes to the dead. I like how cynical she is and some shy loser as other “freak” stereotype. 

Lark should’ve ended up with Mace. I don’t know. I just feel a strong connection with them. Ben was okay, but I think Mace can protect her. Besides, he already saw her in her most vulnerable state. Kevin was better with Wren, but how? 

I also thought that they’re gonna turn against each other, but I’m also relieved that they’re not.

I was confused at first since there are a lot of new characters. It took time before I got hooked with it. But as expected, like the first book, it’s entertaining. And the ending got me the most. It’s much more intense because it doesn’t revolve around personal secrets. It unraveled much darker and deeper secrets. The ending really got me. I just say, grudge, when nurtured, can really grow healthy, and can make you do things you can’t fathom.
