UPDATE: honestly this book is sort of forgettable so I took away a star

Amazing plot! When I first started, I didn’t understand the hype around this book. It had a slower start, but once the thrill started, it never ended. I was constantly trying to figure out the truth and make predictions, and I never guessed the ending. I’m excited to watch the new movie adaptation.

I loved the concept of a feminist Western! This book was definitely unlike anything else I’ve read. It covered a lot about gender norms and sexuality in a predominantly male-focused genre.

This was very much character driven rather than plot driven, so it felt a little slow at times. It was a quick and enjoyable read, but the story wasn’t really for me

TJR has done it again. This novel is full of amazing characters that are so easy to root for and love. This is another great historical fiction novel about such glamorous people that will always pique my interest. I loved that one of the main characters of this novel is also a character in her other two historical fictions. I can’t wait to see what TJR does next!
