Cruel Intentions by Cora Kent
3.0
Xavier and Kaye are step siblings in a very toxic relationship borne out of a desire by Xavier to punish is father for leaving is mother and marrying Kaye's mother. It is very dark in nature, and I was unsure about continuing reading.
It was a book with triggers I had not read before, and am open to reading something new. The dynamic between the step siblings sees Xavier taking Kaye's virginity amongst the maze in his father's garden, after realising that his father is more depraved in his thoughts regarding his step daughter than seemingly Xavier's revenge.
In Xaviers twisted thoughts, he wants to protect Kaye from his father, but it also means he too has to look at himself closely and wonder if the apple does not fall far from the tree. Is he like Malcolm, the man he now despises? Kaye too battles with her feelings of her step brother that she fears. How can she possibly enjoy what he took from her, which sees her reliving those moments in her dreams, and wanting more? This is her step brother!
There is further twists and turns, and again, as much as I wanted to stop reading, I kept reading until the end. It was a HEA ending, but not the kind of story I had ever read to lead us to that moment.
I am grateful to have been sent this to read, and will read the other two books. It may not have been a book I loved, but it took me out of my comfort zone, and kept me reading until the end. I know I am excited to read about Kaye's best friend Christine, as her character intrigued me whilst I read this book.

Harrison by V.R. Tennent
5.0
Harrison and Violet. OMG this booked wrecked me, it was so emotional along with all the spice, I loved it.
Imagine meeting your soulmate as a child, the child your eldest brother saved from certain death. This is Harrison and Violet's story. Harry, as he is known by his friends, has one moment with Violet which confirms to him, and to Violet, that this was more than just a childhood crush, but with words unspoken, and circumstances that, are uncovered as this story goes on, they are driven apart for 14 years.
The moment they meet again, it is clear that those feelings have not wavered, but those past anxieties and instructions from the head of the Chase Family, there is continued forces, and a special something leftover from Violet's relationship that see's the emotional rollercoaster of emotion for all involved.
A book I have literally read in one day, as I could not put down as I needed to get the HEA whilst holding the tissues in one hand. Loved this book, and am now ready for Damon. Highly recommend.

Driving Wild by Haley Cook, Haley Cook
3.0
This was the first book I had read from Haley, and it was a cute, easy read book. Matt is the race car driver who has quite the reputation with the ladies, and Grace is PR for the team, and comes from racing car royalty herself.
In a bid to save his reputation, she pretends to be his wife on a night out. This of course means that they have to create a relationship for the public eye. Grace and Matt have tangled between the sheets once before, and where they thought that that one encounter would be there only, being in close proximity ignites something within. There was alittle spice and is the easy read to go to, if you want a taste of what this genre has available.
