Merciless Saints by Michelle Heard

This is a review for the entire Saints Series, as I loved them all.

This is the first completed series of Michelles, that I have read, and I was shook, in a good way. Each story is a standalone, and can be read as such. As it was, I read this out of order. All of them are intertwined, and the way that each book is written, had me so deliciously hooked, I could not stop reading. The way Michelle manages to capture every emotion, and even in those tough moments of violence, capturing the perspective of both the FMC and MMC is beautiful. It shows the humanness, for want of a better word, of those men that skulk around in the darkness, and showing the love they all need and deserve.

The spicy moments where amazing I just, loved every single book in this series, all different characters, and I couldn't possibly pick a favourite. One of the aspects I really enjoyed, was how the characters were all intertwined thru a common place, where those that hide in the shadows, hone their skills, form alliances and just be themselves. Highly highly recommend.

Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read the start of the newest series. This, is the Heirs of the Elite Men of Manhattan Series, those "hunkholes" we loved. In this first book, we meet Colton Black (Barrett and Lourde's son) and Rose Goldsmith (Ari and Olivia's daughter). This potential relationship was mentioned briefly, in the novella to tie all the Elite Men together and to see where they were as a conclusion, and as a way to introduce us to this series.

Colton, is a chip of the old block in every way, and therefore we see the clashing of egos between him and his father. And, Colton does not like it, nor does he like being told what to do.

Rose, is the apple of her parents eye, and Rose wants to be like her beloved Grandmother, and that means building up a business on her own, something that showcases her talent and drive. Of course, there is this less than brilliant idea, well this is Rose' thinking, to have Colton help project manage the build alongside her, something neither of them wants. Rose still has some residual feelings from those teenage years, from her first kiss with Colton, but, given his reputation, why would she even want to go there? And there is that issue of him being like family, with her parents being close to his, and her brother Noah, being one of Coltons best friends. But, Rose and Colton are absolutely what they both need. I love seeing the interactions between our much older "hunk holes" and their children, and, after loving the Elite Men Series, I now get to see them as older men, with adult children, and that dynamic play out. I love Missy's writing, with spice and emotion all wrapped up perfectly to give us an easy book to read. The next book will be about Noah and Sienna, and am I excited yes, yes I am.

The final book in this series, and it did not disappoint. It completed the series perfectly, and Bishop and Anais' story is beautiful.

Bishop and Anais have been in each other's lives for a while, as she is the niece of his best friend, Phoenix. So, there in lies an issue. But, the heart wants what the heart wants, and as much as Anais tries to engage, Bishop is, mindful of both the age gap between them, and his best friend(s) who are like family. He is torn between his happiness and desire to explore something with Anais, and his friends. But, Bishop has always been that guy, he is always the biggest, loudest cheerleader and support of each and everyone of them, and he watches from the sidelines dreaming of and hoping to have the same shared happiness is friends have. But, even has he chooses to dance with his butterfly and take that chance, it is in the darkness, out of concern and love for his best friend, his brother. And this time, it is him that needs what he gives without question.

Not many books break me, where I have actual tears and am sobbing, but this, for me, pulled at the heart strings and gave me all the feels.

As always, L.A gives the reader all the angst, twist and spice, and this book is no exception. There were a few tissue moments, this book is so beautifully written I did not want it to end.

Everett may be recognised from other books that L.A has written, as he is one of the Callahan brothers we have been introduced too. He is a lawyer and OMG he is friggen Hot AF, with another side to him that has the spicy spicing. His best friend died, and he found himself tasked with raising his daughter Cameron.

Cameron is no longer the little girl that Everett first met. Her Dad Damon and Everett are best friends, and Cameron has remained a part of Everetts life since her Dad died, as they both share extreme grief, which it is as different as it is the same. Everett is a man that Cameron started developing feelings for several years ago, which was definitely more than a crush for her. He is the man who saw her, and Cameron is the woman that sees Everett.

There is so much to unpack with this beautiful age gap story, and the first is how beautifully an often taboo subject like an age gap is tackled in this book. With L.A's characters, there is so much emotion to unpack, and with Everett and Cameron's story, so many twists and turns that I found myself so captivated and drawn into this book, I could not allow myself time to not be all in. As always, I find healing and clarity amongst the pages, and even with my thoughts and opinions on certain taboo subjects, there is no doubt that love can exist where we think it shouldn't. And, this is what I had thought. Even though the words are a work of fiction, there is so much that can be learnt and understood that I can't rave about this book enough. Thank you thank you THANK YOU L.A This book is everything and I highly recommend.
