Fall I Want: a small town, autumn-inspired, billionaire romcom by Lyra Parish
5.0
Take me immediately to Cosy Creek. I love autumn (what we call fall here in NZ), and I literally can smell all the pumpkin themed drinks and food, and feel the importance of the traditions that Cosy Creek has for this season. Lyra, beautifully had me seeing this town, those autumn trees and how the sun captures those details so perfectly, I wanted to be there. This is my first book by Lyra, and I am a bona fide addict. I friggen loved everything about this.
Autumn and Zane are destined, even if the first meeting leaves a sour taste in Autumn's mouth. These two are guarding their hearts but there is an undeniable connection that has been written in the dreams of one, and the predictions of others. Zane is our billionaire, broody/grumpy, hurting, and wants nothing more than a quiet life, shutting out the world and staying in Hollows Manor on the hill. The same manor, that has stories from childhood that Autumn and her friends remember, and have so many questions about.
Autumn hides herself in her work, running and her friends, trying to heal her own broken heart and keep her defences up high. She has a Mr Dreamy that inhabits her unconscious mind when she sleeps, wanting and wishing he was real, but never believing for a moment that he could be. Her amazing friends, with their level of kooky which I love, are the perfect wing women, and want the happiness their friend deserves more than anything.
There is so many laugh out loud moments, as Zane and Autumn navigate friendship/relationship, under the guise of a fake dating scenario, but there are forces that pave the way for them to truly see each other as more. When you find your soulmate, no external force can bring that down, and there is so so many key moments throughout that had me in actual tears at the sheer beauty and wonderment of what was there. I absolutely love these two, and I definitely need to know more about the side characters we meet along the way, as they are key to making this such a perfect read. Oh, and trust me, when the spice hits, and more than just that cinnamon topped latte with a side of pumpkin pancakes, holy moly, these two are like lightening/thunder flashing and booming across the sky which you feel deep down in your own soul as the reader. If I could give more stars I would. Highly recommend.

Romeo Romeo where for art thou Rome! This book, I devoured as quick as adulting would allow, and those last few chapters left me holding my breath, crying, and feeling all the feels. Now, it's no secret I do love dark, unhinged, mafia romance, and this meets the brief. But, do ensure, if this is not your vibe, please read the trigger warnings that Addison provides.
Aurora is our FMC, who has a very simple life, having left the mafia world behind. There is still the grief of losing her mum some years prior, so she flys "under the radar" not wanting to draw any attention to herself.
Enter Romeo Bianchi, our MMC and head of the mafia. He has come to the US to help his cousin, take care of business, and this business, looks on the surface, to be the daughter of an enemy who is trying to take over his cousin Massimo's business, by force. That daughter is Aurora, but she is more than he bargained for, and vice versa. There is ALOT of moving pieces within this book, and this leaves you on the edge of your seat. There is pasts uncovered, betrayal amongst those close to Romeo, and Aurora who is caught between the life she had, what she had been led to believe, and what choices she will make now.
I honestly loved everything about these two, Aurora is a strong FMC, and this is seen throughout the book, and is Romeo's match in every way. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, and if you love this genre, I highly recommend.

Ford is EVERYTHING, and him with Emerson (Emmy or Tink) is just.....this book literally had me riding a huge rollercoaster of emotions with twists, heart in my throat, wiping away tears, and now has me singing or humming "Iris" ALL THE TIME. I already loved the song, but it will forever be their's.
Ford (Cowboy) has been with 'his Tink', even when she didn't know. As she soared the heights of her film career, seemingly living her best life shrouded with a veiled mask, her Cowboy was there, making sure she was safe. Ford had been Emmy's first, their relationship was everything, but the failings of a father saw Ford leave, never to return. Ford carried the wrongdoing's of his father with him, and lived inside his own hell, filled with blame and recrimination, all to keep his Tink safe. Tink has the biggest heart, and her support is a true character strength that all of us would want from a partner. Her capacity to love has no bounds, and this is seen more than a handful of times throughout this.
As with all Pamela's books, the side characters in her books are key to an amazing story, and Ford's close friends, especially Vaughan, has some key moments (tissues everyone, keep that box close) and I am sad this book has been read, but I know we will see Tink and her Cowboy again in Pamela's next book. It will be hard to leave these two behind, and every time I hear Iris (and I may or may not have downloaded Pamela's Playlist for this book from Spotify already), I will think of these two amongst the wildflowers/fairylights, with bunches of coral peonies on the table, wrapped in their love.

Playing with Mr. Grant by Elle Nicoll
5.0
Being the final of The Men Series, this is bittersweet, but Elle, YOU HAVE DONE THIS SERIES END JUSTICE! This last book was amazing, better than I expected, but then, with your writing, I should not have been surprised.
Jet is our MMC. He is a arsehole, grumpy, control freak, but amongst all of this, he is broken, and is trying is very best to protect his heart from further pain. He is a CEO, pilot and has a wee space in my heart. He broke me.
Ava, is our FMC, the brat to Jet's arsehole demeanour. Ava has her own heartache, that she has tried for years to process, deal with, and put this pain to rest. She brings a much needed bit of sunshine to Jet's existence, and is there to press every control button he has. There chemistry is intoxicating, and Elle has a way of having you either crying, on the edge of my seat, or so filled with angst that you feel your heart would burst.
Not giving anything a way, but this is a fitting end to The Men Series, we see our 'old men' return, and it is wrapped up in a way to leave me happy and look forward to Elle's next series. I would happily give this 10/5, highly recommend. It is a completed standalone, and if this is your first, I urge you to go back and read the rest. I can't and won't pick a favourite, I love them all for different reasons. LOVED THIS SERIES.

Brutal Savage by Lilian Harris
5.0
It is no secret, how much I love dark romance with all the morally grey men, and the reddest flags. I had been recommended to read Lilian Harris, so this was my first, and an ARC (thank you) and I absolutely drooled over every word.
Tynan is our delicious MMC, head or Irish Mob in waiting to take over from his Dad. He needs to be married and he needs a wife to give him children. He is also a single Dad. He doesn't want to be in love, or fall in love, and the reasons, well keep those tissues close.
Elara leads a quiet life, definitely by her choosing. She loves being a teacher, she loves children, and like Tynan, hides behind pain, and for her escaping darkness, hiding. Tynan's son Brody is in her class, so Elara is on Tynan's radar anyway, and he is enamoured, and wants to know more.
Well, hold on because there is ALL the red flags, including a deal between Elara/Tynan, forced marriage and OMG when that heat ramps up, it becomes a safety hazard of the best kind. The twists in this book towards the end left me speechless and on the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved this book, and will definitely read more. I highly recommend Lilian and her writing, this was worth alot more stars than 5.

Upping the Ante by Kate Campfield, Kate Campfield

This is Book 4 in this series, but all books can be read as a standalone. I have not read anything from this series, and this was the first time reading this author.
Kat (Kathleen) and Blake hook up, one night, neither of them knowing that they are about to be co workers at Ardmore University. Kat has had to work hard to be where she is, and is constantly having to prove to those around, that she is so much more than her pretty face. Blake has been a "late bloomer" to the academic world, but is more than happy to see Kat once again. They decide to a fake dating scenario after Kat is asked out by The Dean, and Blake is trying to starve off the 'attractions' of the PA. Of course, without a doubt, it is hard for them to deny their feelings, even though Blake has sworn of love and for good reason. Of course when their mutual pasts collide, the hurt is felt across the pages, and we see what the world doesn't see, not even close friends.
