What a lovely lovely piece of fiction. How my small heart warms with its existence.

A happy, breezy book with good characters and fun banter. I actually laughed out loud in a couple chapters and that was nice. Emily builds a warm, cozy town - much like she does in Book Lovers and both Miles and Daphne are incredibly loveable and kind. Their relationship is believable but highly accelerated towards the end for a quick resolution - but such is the curse of writing a contemporary romance so I can’t begrudge her for it. As always, an Emily Henry release makes me happy and warm so I can’t complain.

Now that’s a great fucking novel. Incredible. I am actually stunned and that’s after I read it so quickly. I’m already 3/9 on my Ishiguro journey and I only started a week ago. What pure joy this is.

A quiet but stunning novel. Near perfect.

It’s a surprisingly decent introduction to Ishiguro - especially for someone like me who has been a stranger to his work. The stories are romantic but funny and sometimes a bit sad. The audiobook is SPECTACULAR. The performance of it elevates the work so much and I’m truly glad I listened to it. It’s a wonderful, short read and it definitely has me itching to pick up my next novel by the author - I can only imagine it gets better.
