Very soft and gentle. Lovely vibes and the aesthetic is wonderful!
Definitely a little rough - could use another couple rounds of proof reading and revision. I'd love to see expanded character development and more tension building. It feels like there is very little real bonding that happens, so the payoff of the characters coming together isn't as impactful.
That said, I do love that it's just a nice calm slice of life story. I like the setting very much and the details about cooking, gardening, and other everyday things felt nice.

This gave me emotional damage but I was asking for it and wanted more.
I agree with some other reviews and comments I've seen that this shouldn't be YA and that the author seems to be holding back. I also agree with those who say "we get it, everyone is the most beautiful teenager to ever teenage" - that aspect does feel tedious at times.
All of that taken into consideration, this still feels like a masterwork of moral greyness and revolting against the path that's been set. There is such a beautiful agony of the characters trying to avoid the mistakes of a past they can barely remember, while having no real way of knowing if their actions will change anything or just lead them inevitably toward repeating history.
I have a feeling this will stay with me for a long, long, long time. Truly beautiful writing.

removing my review due to the author being outed as lying about their ethnicity and identity - for more info look up Freydís Moon, Jupiter Wyse, and Taylor Barton online (they're all the same person with different pennames)
