Love love love.
I never wanted this book to end. The romance was beautiful. The emotions and relationship were so layered and visceral.

If youre drawn to the title, you'll like the book. Pop culture. Gay yearning, guilt, thirsting, & hilarity.

Some cute parts. A really fun idea, but it fell flat. It could've gone so much deeper and brought more humor and intrigue. It was a bit disappointing. Even the MCs felt one-dimensional.

I adore both Keris and Zarrah. Star-crossed lovers, Political powerhouses. Their spicy encounters were 🥵.
I had a hard time rating this one because although I enjoyed myself so much and fell hard for the characters and their story, some scenes did get a bit repetitive and tiresome to read through the exact events of the previous book. I loved getting new perspectives of what was happening during some of my favorite moments from book2, but I think it was a bit too drawn out. Some of it could have been cut down without negatively impacting the overarching story.

What a freaking conclusion. I read this in 2 days. So invested in Keris and Zarrah's story and desperate to see them reuinted. It elicited such a wide range of emotions from me.
This book was maybe slightly longer than it needed to be, but the build up to the end made it all the more epic. The intricate web the author created in Book 1 reveals itself fully in this one. The politics and all the players you did and didnt suspect. Even minor characters in book 1 served a purpose in moving plot or the reader's emotions 3 books later. Everything came full circle. Jensen knows her craft and executes it well.
