It has certainly been a while since I’ve read a book that has challenged me. The language and writing style are typical for classics, and for some reason so comforting to me. The last time I read a classic was over a year and a half ago. I regret that now, and want to go back to it.
Elizabeth Bennet is in every way a flawed, yet perfect, human. From the way she speaks to the way she thinks, she is so admirable. The way she learns to overcome her pride and prejudices is courageous.
Mr. Darcy is a great man, though not so great at the start of this novel, but can proof to the readers that he, too, can undergo a character development, and as he, too, learns to overcome his pride and prejudices, the story takes a magnificent turn for the better.
While the chemistry between the two is certainly there, it takes a while to unfold, which could potentially make it harder for readers to see it. But if you’ve set your mind on this book, I have no doubt that you will enjoy almost half as much as I did.

It's been a while since I've read these types of books, and I can say that it's been comforting to start doing it again.
This is your typical grumpy-sunshine, I-love-my-boss kind of book. It's nothing too exciting, but leaves you wanting for more.
The main characters are Rowan and Zahra. Rowan is your typical alluring, brooding, mysteriously silent boss, while Zahra is a ray of sunshine. Don't worry though, she has a backbone and knows her worth.
Zahra's personality is so inspiring, the way she knows her worth and when to put her foot down is admirable. She has a strong personality and is so selfless it hurts. Treating everyone with the utmost respect, she is the kind of female main character we've all needed.
I also loved Claire, Zahra's best friend, and Ani, Zahra's sister, and the support they have for Zahra and the amount of care for her wellbeing.
Rowan was alright, but I kind of think that his personality is too cliché. He makes mistakes, but he makes up for them and Zahra makes him grovel. A little. Because Rowan understands his actions and faults, he finds a way to make up for them in thoughtful ways.
All in all, I did like this book, but for me it was just lacking (if you know what I mean). I didn't get the excited tingles I feel when I really love a book, and it is kind of like all the other books that are currently trending. You don't need a Rowan, just go read the Twisted series and you'll have the same guy, the same outcome. This book wasn't anything special.

the dynamic between alex and poppy is so raw, so special, so unique, i feel like words arent enough.
one thing that really spoke to me (🤭), is that feeling of loneliness poppy described when you realised that you could never know someone truly and completely. i was shocked when i read it, as it has been something i have been thinking about myself as well. my last few weeks it’s been consuming my thoughts, and to see someone else think the EXACT same thing has been surprising, and comforting, to say the least.
the moment they said “i love you” to each other, i felt like the words ‘i love you’ weren’t enough. like, after over a decade of loving each other, such simple words couldn’t explain the complexity behind their emotions. i wish there was something stronger than ‘i love you’, and if there was, it would be for them

i have put this book off for a while.
call it procrastinating.
i started reading it 3 days ago, and i have only just finished it. i can guarantee you that i wish i had done it sooner.
seeing evelyn’s life unfold, while trying to maintain my respect with her mindset was overwhelming. and yet, at the end of the day, i will be earnest and say that she is simply admirable.
that is the one word i will use to describe evelyn hugo. admirable.
i know you’ll understand once you’ve read it.

it’s something that you’d expect out of an early 2010s book. cliché lines, plot, the romanticised “badboy player”.
and yet this book captured me. what can i say, i’ve always been a sucker for these.
i found this book on an instagram reel (yes, the good old instagram). someone posted the scene where they talked about amber’s first kiss. i knew that when i saw it, i would have to read it. i couldn’t let this pass.
and boy am i glad i didn’t.
aside from the quite predictable plot, the story has been quite nice. im happy with how things turned out.
i hate that she got pregnant, and i kinda wished for a miscarriage but felt a little bad when it happened

this book is intriguing. that doesn’t necessarily mean in a good way though.
i found it all a bit weird, to be completely honest.
the fmc is poor and has severe trust issues, which makes her a strong character. i did get a lot of second hand embarrassment, and ive had to close my book a couple of times. she was a good written character though, with her own opinion and lots of depth.
the mmc is a bit hotheaded. not that much, though. just a little. he’s sweet and tries to do things right, but is quick to jump to conclusions.
it’s a sweet story, and it’s written well.

so i dont think this book is bad, but it just, i expected more of this.
okay, the guy is like so madly in love with her and all, and it’s all rly cute. and im glad that they both have a fked mental health and insecurities. but this book was like, meh.
the writing was good. definitely. but some words were just unnecessary. like idc what a table looks like, yk? and sometimes there was no proper description at all so it was hard to imagine things.
the girl is lowkey such a y/n, with her ‘petite frame’ and her little weight (she’s barely 5ft). that threw me off a bit. and then the guy is like giant, massive. tbh i dont fk with those proportions, gives me pick me vibes.
i do love their characters though; the girl is a complete badass and the guy is like a “look at her in a wrong way and youre dead” type of guy. i know many (myself included) love that shit.
