I think the author really stepped it up in this second book, I found that it was even harder than before to put it down. The characters were very cleverly crafted and at some points I myself didn't know who was good or bad. I really felt as though I was Cassie Oldfield and I felt her confusion and pain. Again extremely geologically correct as well, so I was very pleased.

I was a little skeptical at first but this book was amazingly geologically accurate and extremely interesting.. Definitely one of those "can't put it down" books! The plot twists really keep you on your toes!
Can't wait to read Volcano Watch.

Toni Dwiggin's Forensic Geology series is a delightful read for anyone with any interest in geology - this prequel novella is no exception. Well written, suspenseful.. A true page turner. I love that the geology terms are authentic and used properly, and I love that Toni uses them in a way that adds to the excitement without bogging it down with hard science. It was a great set up for how the rest of the series is if you come to it new and start sequentially.

I left off a star simply because I felt the end came too abruptly. I really just wanted there to be more!
