As for the first book of the serie, I’m not a fan of the way it’s written. But I am fan of the twists and the characters. I knew what would happen, but deep down I kept hoping that somehow what happened in the first book didnt happen for real (and even though it still happened AGAIN, I will keep hope, leave me alone). I can’t wait to read the sequel!!!

WOW. That graphic novel was simply great. I loved all of it. I won’t say it was relatable cause I think the author heard that enough, but it helped me put words on feelings I have since forever. Thank you for your art, thank you for being you.

That graphic novel is about being human, simply. I recommend it to everyone. It has great illustrations, it’s funny, inspiring, it makes us think about life, it’s short and yet I would have took more.

I will definitely be reading everything she ever did and everything she ever will make.

I loved how mental health is written in this graphic novel. I also appreciated the metaphor with the apocalypse and the drawings! I did feel that too many things were trying to be said in not enough words… But otherwise I enjoyed reading it!! It’s a beautiful story about mental health and an easy and short read!

Being a mother is a dream for so many people, yet few talk about what comes afterwards. Postpartum depression is very real, but Lenore has started the process of healing and is ready to be the best mother she can. Everything for her Florence. But when an accident happens and Florence’s life is threaten, she has to ask herself: was it really an accident?

WOW! What a great thriller! Im often disappointed by the quality of the thrillers I read, where plot twists are preferred to background. But I was agreeably surprised by the writing of Leah Mercer! It had enough twists, while still giving us a good background story. A lot of important themes were also in the book, which resulted in a great read. Never forget, « secrets had a wad of tumbling out, sometimes in the worst way imaginable, and with the worst possible consequences ». I loved hating some characters and I loved feeling empathetic towards others. I got to say that I did see the plot twist coming, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book! I’ll definitely look into more books from this author!

Thank you Boukuture and Netgalley for this ARC! All opinions are mine.

OH MY GOD!!! I have to admit that at first, I wasn’t conviced. I thought the writing was too much « movie style », romance wasn’t my thing and characters were a bit too stereotypical for me… but then, OMG! I fell in love with everything!! The world-building, the TENSION BETWEEN KAI AND PAE, the characters, everything!! I read the last half of that book so fast, I devoured it. And then I saw that the second book wasnt coming out before July 2024 and my heart broke!!

If you’re a fan of Hunger Games, romance, bad-ass characters, then this book is for you!!
Thank you netgalley for the arc!

I absolutely loved this book!! I mean, feminism, asian culture, handiccaped protagonist, difficult relationships with family, polyamor, and just badass writing? Sign me in!!
My only complaints would be that I had a bit of difficulties to understand all the terms relatives to the universe of the books, and that the main character was a bit the stereotypical girlboss that saves the universe (not saying I don’t like it, but it could’ve been less stereotypical and the other women could have been portrayed in a better light).
I loved how inclusive this book was, and how the characters were nuanced and gray (all were bad and good at the same time). The worldbuilding was really good, as was the way it was written.
I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel!!

OMG, that was so good!!! I fell in love with the books in the first few pages, and I had to go back to the beginning and notes everything in the notes app to be sure I was following EVERY lead and remembering every character correctly! It was so well written, the world building was great and each character was complex and nuanced, I LOVED IT!! The only negative thing I could say about this book was that it wasn’t long enough! But then, I could’ve read thousands and thousands of pages of that book, so that’s on me hihi!! Oh and also, I love how one of the character used the pronouns they/them and it wasn’t a big deal at all! Everyone just went with it, it wasn’t in the spotlight or anything, I loved it!

If you’re searching a book with a black girl with magic, a great critic of the world and of racism, a good story that’ll make you laugh, cry and reflect, The Poisons We Drink is the perfect book for you!

As always, VE Schwab doesn’t disappoint!! I’m a big fan of all her work, and her first novel isn’t different from all her other books!
