I went into this a bit hesitantly,  but was thoroughly impressed.  A boot camp of orphans, a war,  and teenagers make for one complicated life.  While this does have some darker elements the plot isn't going for gore and counteracts the weight of themes with some cheerful personalities.  My one negative is the romance plot is coming on a bit thick, too soon for me,  but not unexpected given the title!
