Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Francesc Miralles, Héctor García Puigcerver

This book is a non fiction, self help, health book that talks about the Japanese way of living that allows them to live longer and healthier.

I think that if you have limited knowledge of Japanese culture, healthier practices or blue zones this is a great introduction to those topics.

I found the tips short and sweet and direct to the point which is super practical however, I did find the emphasis on young as a word selection instead of longevity quite of putting, but that is a personal pep peeve.

There also a yoga pose section that felt a bit like filler and I found myself skipping that part.

But again, if longevity and health practices are something you are looking on implementing, this is a good book.

I had such high expectations for this book and even though I thought it was a great way, it wasn't quite the life changing 5 stars I was expecting.

The story follows a couple where the husband is suffering from a mutation that will turn him into a shark. Obviously this is a parallel to death and how to deal with life when someone is going through something and what will happen afterwards.

However the story is told in 3 different part, I even think it's 3 separate stories, the one of the couple, the one of the wife and her life before and after her husband and the life of the husband once the transition has been completed.

Like I said, I think that it's a great book, with a lot to unpack, however, because of the mutation, I was always taken back to reality when things got to unusual and therefore was not able to be 100% invested
