Arabic Through the Qur'an by Alan Jones

I use this book to teach students Arabic with the aim of being able to read the Quran in it's original Arabic text. I have always used Haywood and Nahmad's A New Arabic Grammar, to teach and while I prefer the depth of the latter, the brief "bite-size" nature of the chapters in this book, make it more accessible for students. However if you are looking for a teach-yourself kind of book, this will probably not be sufficient. Hence four rather than five stars.
The Happiness Advantage: How a Positive Brain Fuels Success in Work and Life by Shawn Achor

I bought this book having watched Shaun Achor's TED talk. The book runs in the same vein as the talk but obviously with more detail, research and evidence. While it focuses somewhat more on the idea that a happy workforce will result in a more efficient one, it has plenty for the individual to take from. I've used many of the ideas in the book with my own family and children and have reaped it's benefits. It is well written, retains the reader's attention and gives plenty of practical ideas that can easily be implemented.
