I loved this book. While I understand if the writing style might be a bit off-putting, for me it was nice because I felt like it makes it more authentic for the time it is set in. There was a perfect balance between history and magic and this book just had me hooked.

I kind of felt like the beginning of the book was really dragging on and it took pretty long until stuff actually happened. For me there were too many memories that kind of disrupted the story. That being said, it was still interesting enough to really keep me reading. I also think if I had known what kind of book it is going in, I would have enjoyed it more because I was expecting something different. I did love the writing style and it's a really good book, I just think it wasn't for me atm.

This book just pulled me in and kept me reading. I loved the writing style and the way things were described. The main character is mute and hinted at being aroace which is amazing representation.
