کتاب کوتاه، سریع و خوش‌خوانی بود که توی کمتر از دو ساعت تمومش کردم. بدون اینکه بدونم کتاب راجع به چیه شروعش کردم و خوشحالم که چیزی راجع بهش نمیدونستم. راوی رفته رفته غیرقابل‌اعتمادتر میشه و پیدا کردن حقیقت سخت‌تر. تا حالا فقط دو کتاب با محوریت آلزایمر خوندم که هر دوتاشون جوری که انتظارشو نداشتم احساساتی‌م کردن: این کتاب و هر روز صبح راه خانه دورتر و دورتر می‌شود. گر چه این دو کتاب خیلی با هم متفاوتن اما احساس مشابهی میدن.

کتاب کوتاهیه و روند سریعی داره ولی به قدری بد نوشته شده که همین ۲۵۶ صفحه هم محتوای اضافی زیادی داره که داستانو به هیچ جا نمیبرن. شاید حتی سوالاتی ایجاد کنن که در نهایت هیچ پاسخی بهشون داده نمیشه.
بزرگترین مشکل کتاب نوع نوشتارشه. هیچ اتفاقی جلوی چشم خواننده نمیفته، همه چی رو راوی برای مخاطب تعریف میکنه، اونم به صورتی که به شدت حوصله سر بر و بی‌روحه. ترجمه ناشیانه کتاب هم تحملش رو سخت‌تر میکنه.
هیچکدوم از کاراکتر‌ها پردازش خوبی ندارن. همگی در ذهن من خواننده یک اسمن. همین و بس. هیچ ایده‌ای ندارم این آدما کی هستن. وقتی هم که قراره یکی دوتا ویژگی به این اسامی توخالی اضافه بشن، فقط توصیفات راوی رو میشنویم که میگه فلانی ساکته، فلانی پرحرفه. نویسنده هیچ چیزی رو بهتون نشون نمیده.
این کتاب هم از اون دست کتاباییه که در طول کتاب هیچ سرنخی برای حل معمای اصلی بهتون نمیده و یهو همه چیزو براتون توضیح میده. اونم چه توضیحی! راوی دوباره همه چیزو روزنامه‌وار براتون تعریف میکنه. همین.

The premise was really intriguing and I was enjoying it for about 20 episodes but after that I got bored with all the info dumps.

اینجا هم مثل بقیه کتابای ایان رید یه اتمسفر غریبی وجود داره. میدونی یه جای کار میلنگه، یه چیزی درست نیست اما نمیتونی روش دست بذاری و تا وقتی که نفهمی که ماجرا چیه نمیتونی کتابو زمین بذاری.
پیرنگ اصلی داستان علمی‌تخیلیه اما فقط در همین خلاصه نمیشه و به مسائل و درگیری‌های ارتباطات انسانی رو هم در بر میگیره.

متاسفانه ترجمه ناشیانه و سخت‌خوانه. همون‌طور که از اسمش مشخصه این کتاب راجع به فندوم‌ها و فرهنگ عامه و موضوعات نردی‌ای از این قبیله و باید دست مترجمی داده بشه که با این موضوعات آشنائه.

The first 100 or so are really good cause it was suspenseful but after we find out what's wrong (which is a bit idiotic to me), I had no interest in what was going on cause i knew the ending. The main character is not as smart or interesting as it is supposed to be and i disliked her very much.

The art style is gorgeous. Simple but not too simple that gets boring. But story wise there's isn't much too say. 

Powerless by Lauren Roberts
Did not finish book. Stopped at 63%.

I can't continue with this anymore. It's a ramshackle of all the successful YA fantasy books. The Trials, the balls (which happens before each and every trial!), the magic system. The politics are sooo childish. The main character is the ultimate it girl, a combination of all the it girls in those successfull YA books. Deus ex machina is a regular part of the story. The fist trial was sooooooo boring i cant emphasize it enough. There are some big edtorial mistakes. I swear i won't fall into the tik tok trap ever again!
