so kate chopin describes everything in one of three ways: moody, delicious, or misty. so she basically dragged me into this dramatic state of mind I’m currently in. this book consists of a novelette followed by a few short stories, each a different locale of the country that is womanhood. this book is meant for savouring and languishing, for dissociation and introspection. this is the girliest book I’ve read and I have a crush on it. occasionally shocking, mostly piercing. as honest as the sun, as painful as its gaze. oops sorry, that’s my state of mind talking
