The book wasn't for me. While some aspects were helpful, it didn't completely resonate with me.

this was my first stephen king novel and i’m thoroughly impressed! i heard a lot of great things about this book and it held up to it! some things happened in the book that i thought weren’t necessary, but it fit the theme of the plot somewhat. a good lovecraftian-esque novel !

this book didn’t entirely go the way I expected. it was a very cute romance novel, but i didn’t expect for it to also be reflective, and it caught me off guard in a good way. while it wasn’t entirely my cup of tea, i can see why it’s a favorite among many!

it took me so long to get through this anthology. i will give it props for opening me up to the world of lovecraftian horror, but MAN it felt like a chore to read this book sometimes ;-; there were a handful of good stories but i had to churn through the rest.

i quite enjoyed this book! it had its twists and the second half of the book had me binge reading it! it does start slow, and there’s a lot of background to go through in the beginning of the book (understandably so), but was overall a great read!

i was able to follow along with the story with the two books that came after the first in the series. while those were a little off topic, i understood why there was additional context and i was amazed by it. however, i was only able to tolerate the back tracking for so long before it felt as if the author was trying to write more just to write more. it wasn’t my cup of tea, and i may come back to it again but i doubt it.
