I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I did really like this book, and liked that it had an actual plotline, and not just spice. I loved that each person felt distinct, (at least after the first couple chapters), and had their own stories. Is it realistic? Probably not, but I didn't care about that. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because it was A LOT of swearing(which I don't generally mind), and a lot of it felt misplaced I guess? Like it was put there just to have it, not for any emphasis or purpose. I did consider dnfing it because of this, because it kept pulling me out of the story. I did really enjoy it in the end and got invested in the MC's, especially River and Jasper.

If you're into why choose spicy books, good badboys and crime, then this book might be for you.

I recieved this for free as an ARC. The review is still 100% honest.

I really enjoyed the storyline of this book, and loved being able to continue following the same group, but from a different perspective. There is a little spice, but somehow the non spicy parts from this author feels like a warm hug to me. Not sure why. I liked that there was a small plot twist or two, so it wasn't entirely predictable. If you don't mind a bit of spice, I would highly recommend it, and I can't wait to see where the series is going!

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

It wasn't bad, but from the reviews I've seen I expected a lot more. It was absolutely sad, but I was nowhere near crying or anything like that. There were a lot of descriptions of Korean food, which there were a bit too many of for me personally,
especially the eating live octopus thing.

The audiobook was decently read, though I sped it up to 1.2, which I doesn't typically do. If you're into the topic and don't mind a lot of food descriptions, I would recommend giving it a try. I felt I learned more about Korean culture, and having issues communicating in your origin country. And of course the cancer journey and stuff, but I knew more about that to begin with. Overall I would probably have liked it better if it wasn't so hyped up and increased my expectations so much.

Book was ok. There's a lot of talk about God though, which I'? Not a fan of.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am reviewing this honestly.

Overall I did enjoy this book. I sometimes felt not much really happened, and for a long time I was unsure how to rate it. In the end I found the merrow mythology interesting, and for the most part engaging. I got a bit of a Percy Jackson vibe from it, but with a different plot. I liked the Irish parts of it, and kept finding myself searching up the names to learn more about them. There were also some plot twists, which I enjoyed. If you're interested in the topics in the book, I would recommend checking it out, and I will consider continuing the series when the next book comes out.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
Writing style wasn't a good match for me.
